- Lillian L. Kinney, 73, widow of Jim Kinney of Newton, peacefully passed away on Thursday (April 30, 2020) after a long illness. She was born in Newton, NJ, July 31, 1946, a daughter of the late Martin and Grace Mabee of Lafayette. Lillian graduated from Montclair State University and also held a master's degree in Education. Mrs. Kinney held a long and dedicated physical education position at Stillwater Township School where she was beloved by her students. She was a lifelong member of the Lafayette Federated Church where she married the love of her life, Jim Kinney on April 27, 1968. Lillian was also a certified swimming instructor, teaching swimming lessons at a number of venues around the county for most of her adult life. Lillian loved gardening, planting hundreds of flowers around her home and an abundant vegetable garden in her back yard each year. Lillian loved jogging, square dancing, bike rides, Cape May, her red Mustang, hazelnut gelato and any opportunity just to sit outside in the sun.
She is survived by her brother, Dennis Mabee and his wife Susan of Cheshire, Connecticut, her son Jay Kinney, her daughter, Kerry Kinney, son-in-law, Gil Bakal, grandsons, Fisher Bakal and Miles Bakal, all of New York City, her nieces, Sue Stone, Lori Vanstone and Karen Mabee, her nephews, Peter Vanstone, Rich Vanstone, Tom Vanstone, Mike Mabee and her cherished black Labrador, Ricochet.
Her smile and kindness with be eternally missed.

- Martin B. Mabee, 97, of Lafayette, died peacefully in his sleep on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at home.
Born in Lafayette, Mr. Mabee was a lifelong resident of Lafayette. He worked at Picatinny Arsenal for 22 years before his retirement in 1972. A member of the Lafayette Federated Church, Mr. Mabee was a member of the Lafayette Fire Department for 66 years and a member of Kittatinny Lodge in Branchville.
The son of the late Frank A. and Anna Couse Mabee, Mr. Mabee is survived by his wife of 76 years, Grace M. Mabee; his son, Dennis Mabee and wife, Susan, of Cheshire, Conn.; his daughter, Lillian L. Kinney and husband, Jim, of Newton; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lafayette Federated Church. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

- Grace Mae Mabee, 98, of Lafayette, died Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Newton Medical Center. Born in Newark, Mrs. Mabee was a lifelong resident of Lafayette. She was active in church, school and community activities. A member of Lafayette Federated Church, Mrs. Mabee was also a member of the Newton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter, who loved to crochet and knit. She knit caps for all the babies leaving the hospital.
The daughter of the late R. Milton and Maud (nee Cron) Treible, Mrs. Mabee was also predeceased by her husband, Martin B. Mabee, on October 19, 2012, and a daughter, Clara VanStone, on May 5, 2004. She is survived by her son, Dennis Mabee and wife, Susan, of Cheshire, Connecticut; her daughter, Lillian L. Kinney, of Hampton Township; her son-in-law, Roland VanStone, of Frankford Township; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter
