- Douglas Williams Mabee eighty-one, widely known in financial circles of the Capital District, died at his home. 2 Union avenue. Saratoga Springs early yesterday after a long Illness.
For many years he had been a director and vice president of the Adirondack Trust company at Saratoga Springs and was prominent in the paper industry. At the time of \\ his death, he was president of the First national bank of Ballston Spa.
Although be had relinquished active part in marry interests which held his attention, heretained the vice presidency of the National Folding Box company of New Haven. Conn., and was president of the G. F. Harvey company of Saratoga Springs.
He was a member of a pioneer Brooklyn family and was born there in 1848.
Prior to 1875 when he went to Ballston Spa, he was engaged in the j passenger department of the Erie railroad with offices at Binghamton.
As the son in law of the late George West, representative in congress, he became identified with Mr. West's extensive paper mills of which there were ten along the Kayaderosseras creek at that time. These mills were later sold to the Union Bag and Paper company.
He was elected mayor of Ballston Spa for two terms and 1902. after the sale of the mills, removed to Saratoga Springs.
He was a boxholder at the Saratoga track and a member of the Saratiga Golf Club, the Saratoga club and the McGregor Links. He was also affiliated with the Odd Fellows and Knights of Pyyhias as well as the Republicanclub of New York.
Besides his wife. Mrs. Florence West Mabee. three sons and three daughters survive including Douglas Walter Mabee. Mrs. Ranulf Compton and Mrs. Charles V. Furness, all of Saratoga Springs. The other children are George W. Mabee and David Mabee. both of New Haven, and Mrs. William P. Boone of Ashville, N. C. "
The funeral is to be Wednesday at 3 o'clock from the residence with burial at Green Ride cemetery. The Rev. Irving Roulliard, rector of Bethesda Episcopal church of Saratoga Springs will officiate

- The entire estate of Douglass Walter Mabee, who died in Saratoga Springs, September 29, goes to his wife, Florence L. Mabee, under the terms of his will, dated December 16, 1926, as filed for probate in Saratoga county surrogate's court yesterday. The petition for probate of the will gives simply the formal statement that it is valued at exceeding $20,000 in real and personal property. No information as to the size of the estate could be secured yesterday.
Three sons, D. Walter Mabee, of this city, and George. W. and David W. Mabee, of New Haven, Conn, are named as executors. Other heirs at law are Florence Mabee Compton and Margaret Mabee Furness of Saratoga: Louise Mabee Boone of Asheville, N. C ; Alfred L. Mabee of Saratoga, daughters and son

- Friends in Catskill have received word of the death on Tuesday in New Haven, Conn, of George W. Mabee, chairman of the board of directors of the National Folding Box Company. Mr. Mabee died in New Haven Hospital. He was 70 years old. He is survived by his wife, the. former Blanche Wiley, daughter of the late Gen. and Mrs. W. S.C. Wiley of Catskill, a daughter Eleanor M. Mabee, three sisters, Mrs. William F. Broome of Knoxville, Tenn., Mrs. Ranulf Chapman of Madison and Mrs. Charles V. Furness of Northville, three brothers, D. Walter of Saratoga, Alfred L. of Albany, and David W. of New Haven
Mrs. Mabee, when a resident of Catskill, lived with her parents in the home now occupied by St. Joseph's Villa, then a show place of Prospect avenue. Burial will be in Saratoga on Friday

- Douglass Walter Mabee, 77, of 43 Fifth avenue, Saratoga Springs, and Del Ray Beach, Fla., died 2:45 p.m. Saturday in the Saratoga Hospital after a long Illness. Born in Ballston Spa, Jan. 8, 1880, the son of Douglass Williams and Florence West Mabee, Mr. Mabee was vice-president and director of Adirondack Trust Co. of Saratoga at the time of his death. He was formerly president of Marvin Neitzel Corp. of Troy and director of National Folding Box Co., New Haven, Conn. He was also past president and member of Saratoga Golf club and a member of Gulf Stream Bath and Tennis club, Del Ray Beach, Fla. He was a member of the Saratoga. Reading rooms, Sons of the American Revolution, a Masonic fraternity and Bethesda Episcopal Church.
Mr. Mabee is survived by his wife, Mrs. Viola Thompson Butler Mabee, whom he married March 11, 1950. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Edna Louise Marvin Mabee, who died in 1949. He Is survived by his wife; a daughter, Edna Louise Smith of Hartford, Conn.; a son, Douglass William Mabee of Rye; a brother, David Walton Mabee and a sister, Mrs. Charles V. Furness, both of New Haven, Conn.; another brother, Alfred Mabee of Albany; two other sisters, Mrs. William P. Boone, Knoxville, Tenn., and Mrs. Ranulf Compton, Del Ray Beach, Fla.; three stepsons, John Prentiss Butler, Schenectady; Walter Thompson Butler, Del Ray Beach, Fla., and Lieutenant William R. Butler, USA, Fort Bennington, Ga. and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow, 11:30 a.m., at the Bethesda Episcopal Church, Saratoga Springs. Friends and relatives may visit the residence tonight. Burial will be in Greenridge Cemetery, Saratoga.

- A very interesting wedding took place last evening at the residence of the Hon. George West In Ballston Spa, the bride being Miss Louise West Mabee, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglass
W. Mabee, and the bridegroom Mr. William Pennybacker Boone. The ceremony was performed by the Rev Charles Pelletreau, rector of Christchurch.
The bride, who wore white satin with point lace, was attended by Miss Margaret Nostrand Mabee, as maid of honor....
The groom's best man was Lieutenant William Wallace, of the First Kentucky Infantry.
The drawing room, where the ceremony was performed. was a bower of pink roses. Gioccia's orchestra furnished the weddicg music.
Mr. and Mrs. Boone left for the South last evening. They will reside in Louisville, Ky.
The groom is the son of the late Colonel Rowan Boone, a gallant Kentuckian, who served in the Union army during the civil war. He is a descendant of Daniel Boone,_the famous pioneer settler of Kentucky, and in his vein also flows the blood of the Rowans, Pennybackers and Morrises, prominent Kentucky families. He is employed in the office of the Kentucky Mutual Life insurance Company at Louisville, of which his grandfather, George W. Morris, is president.
