- The visitation for Stephen Don Mabie, 63, will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, at The Oaks Funeral Home, 1201 E. Irving Park Road (at Prospect), Itasca. Born and raised in Elmhurst, he passed away suddenly. He attended York Community High School, where he was the featured drummer in the concert band. He was a professional drummer, singer and entertainer for 47 years with many appearances in the Chicagoland area, and spent 11 years as the drummer and director of the house band at the Clayton House/Palwaukee Motor Inn in Wheeling. He was the beloved husband of Terri Marie; loving father of Angela Phillips; devoted grandfather of Justin and Christopher; dear brother of Lewis, Capt. USN (Nan) of Virginia Beach, Va. and Beverly Anne Rapp of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and fond uncle of Todd Mabie.
