  	The death of William Smith, aged seventy-six, occurred at his home in Fly Creek on Wednesday afternoon. He had been in poor health for over a year. Born in Roxburyshire, Scotland on April 8, 1871, Mr. Smith was the son of James and, Alice (Dickson) Smith. He came to the United States while a young man and in December, 1909, married Eva Mabie, who survives him. Other survivors are a brother, John Smith of Fly Creek and a niece, Miss Alice Smith of Huntington, L. I. He was a member of the Fly Creek Methodist church. For a number of years he was caretaker of Glimmerglen Farm operated by: W. T. Hyde. Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Tillapaugh Funeral home with services conducted by the Rev. Clarence L. Andrews, pastor of the Methodist churches in Cooperstown and Fly Creek. Burial will be in the Fly Creek cemetery
