- Death From a Singular Cause.
Rochester, Aug. 22.—Alfred Mabie, who for about twenty years has been an employee in the New York custom house, came here last Monday with his daughter-in- law. Wednesday they visited the Sea Breeze and he went bathing. In diving in shallow water he hurt himself, and was taken with cramps and was rescued with difficulty. He remained unconscious all night and died in the morning. The doctor refuses to give a certificate of death, as something suspicious is hinted at. The coroner will hold a post mortem
