  	Miss Marjorie Best of 76 Rockledge Road, secretary to the director of education at Sarah Lawrence College, yesterday was married to Gifford Montague Mabie, newly elected Twelfth Ward Supervisor. The nuptials were solemnized at 5pm at the home of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Beare Best. The Rev. Dr. John Henderson Powell, Jr.. pastor of the Reformed Church in Bronxville, officiated, assisted by the Rev Howard Calvin Shaffer, fiancé of the bride's sister, Miss Elinore Best The bride's hoop-skirted gown was of ivory slipper satin, made with a standing collar. Her tulle veil was arranged from a coronet of lace and she carried white sweetpeas, roses and bouvardia. Miss Elinor Best, as maid of honor, wore a turquoise blue faille taffeta gown and a matching velvet hat. Her bouquet was of pink chrysanthemums. Brainerd Hunt Whitbeck of Bronxville was best man. A reception was held after the ceremony. Supervisor Mabie and his bride are on a honeymoon through the South and on their return will make their home at 74 Rossmore Avenue. The bride, a member of the Bronxville League for Service, is a graduate of Bronxville High School and attended Bradford Academy in Bradford, Mass. She received her bachelor of arts degree from Wellesley College in 1935 and attended the Katharine Gibbs School in New York. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Gifford Mabie of 1470 Midland Avenue, Supervisor Mabie is a director of the Board of Trade in New York and president of the Young Men's Board of Trade there
