- Mrs. D.E. LaBar. 89, daughter of a pioneer circus man, died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in her home at 134 S. Sixth street. She had been ill six months. The former Mary Antoinette Mabie, daughter of Jeremiah and Anna Field Mabie, was born in Brewster, N.Y.. Aug. 19. 1860, and moved to Delavan with her parents at the age of two. Her father traveled out of Delavan with Mabie's menagerie, a circus attraction of which he was the owner. She was graduated from Delavan high school in 187_, and attended a finishing school in Buffalo, N.Y. She was married April 15, 1897, to D.E. LaBar who died 11 years ago. A member of the Congregational church, she was also a charter member of the Monday club. Survivors are a son. Attorney D.R. LaBar, and two grandchildren, Riverside, Ill. A daughter, Elizabeth, a brother and a sister and two half-brothers preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the O'Brien and Betzer funeral home, the Rev. Joseph Steen officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening.
