- Mrs Flossie Shader wife of Ralph Shader of Bellvale, died in Linn Hospital at Sussex, NJ, Thursday, early evening, frrom serious burns, which she had received that morning. She was 19 years, 4 months and nine day[s old]. Mrs Shader, it is reported, poured kerosene on the kindling in the kitchen stove, thinking that the fire was out, only to have the flames bite back at her to the can she was holding, which exploded, covering her with flaming liquid. Mrs Shader thought her husband, who was out looking after the farm chores, had forgotten to turn on the drafts, and that the fire had burned out in the night, and she sought to rekindle it, causing the above tragedy.
The family physician, Dr Uptegrove of Vernon was summoned and on arrival he took her to Linn Hospital at Sussex, where death came about 5 o'clock.
Mrs Shader was Flossie P Mabee, daughter of John E Mabee and Margaret Predmore and was born at Pine Island, NY, August 24th, 1910. Besides her husband and one infant son Frederick and her parents the deceased is survived by the following sisters and brothers: Margaret, wife of Fred Batz, and Stella, wife of Peter D Howell of Bellvale; Viola, wife of George Feist, and Helen, wife of Albert Leeper of New Milford; and brothers Preston of Wisner; Ernest of Sugar Loaf; and John of New Milford.

- Mrs Margaret A Mabee, wife of John E Mabee of Wisner, died Sunday, May 21st, aged 52 years. She was the daughter of Daniel Predmore and Martha Carr and was born at Vernon, N J , March 11th, 1881.
She is survived by her husband and the following children, Preston, who lives at home, Ernest of Lake, John of New Milford, Helen, wife of Albert Leeper and Viola, wife of George Feist, both of New Milford, Stella wife of Peter Howell and Margaret, wife of Fred Batz both of Bellvale. Also by nineteen grandchildren and two sisters, Jane, wife of Wm Smith and Lucinda, wife of Harry Talmadge both of Hamburg, N J
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at two o'clock at the Warwick Cemetery Chapel, the Rev Bennett of Bellvale officiating and burial in Warwick Cemetery.

- John Edward Mabee died on Friday of last week at the home of his son, Preston S Mabee, near Bellvale (NY). Funeral services were held at the Cemetery Chapel at two o'clock on Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev Seely Quackenbush. Burial was in Warwick Cemetery. Mr Mabee was born at Canister, NJ on May 5, 1868. A son of of the late Collins Mabee and Elizabeth Kelley. for many years he resided on a farm in this town, and since the death of his wife, the former Margaret A Predmore, he has resided with his son. He is survived by three sons, Preston S. and Ernest V of Bellvale, and John E, Jr of Warwick; four daughters, Helen D, wife of Alver Leeper of New Milford, Viola B, wife of George Feist of Warwick, Stella C wife of Peter Howell, and Margaret, wife of Fred Batz, both of Bellvale; twenty five grandchildren; three brothers, Elmer C and James of Warwick, and Abram of Middletown; two sisters, Mrs Hanna Doremus of Paterson and Mrs Elizabeth Roe of Connecticut.

- Fred G Batz Sr, 72, of Lake Road, Bellvale, died Thursday at home after a long illness.
He was a lifelong resident of Bellvale, born July 25, 1902, to Michael J and Lena Goegel Batz. He was married to Margaret Mabee and a retired employee of the Swartz Oil Co.
He was a member of the Bellvale United Methodist Church, lifetime director of the Grand Jurors Assn of Orange County, and pasty president of the Warwick Road and Gun Club.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Fred G Batz, Jr of Bellvale and Michael John of Warwick; a brother, Herbert Batz in California; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Batz and Gertrude Batz of Bellvale; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Lazear-Smith Funeral Home, 17 Oakland Ave, Warwick.
Burial will be in Warwick Cemetery

- Ernest V. Mabee, 78, of Old Dutch Hollow Road, Greenwood Lake, died Tuesday, July 11, in Goshen.
The son of John E. and Margaret Predmore Mabee, he was born in Vernon, N.J., on May 23, 1900.
A retired Village of Greenwood Lake employee, he was married to the late Susan Staffa Mabee.
Mr. Mabee is survived, by two sons, Ernest D. of Greenwood Lake and Thomas V. of Hewitt, N.J.; four daughters, Gloria McCombs, Wanda Pikul, Elizabeth and Mary Mabee, all of Goshen; two brothers, Preston of Bellvale and John of Warwick; three sisters, Viola Feist and Stella Howell, both of Warwick, and Margaret Batz of Bellvale; 20 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Strong Funeral Home, Warwick.
Burial was in Warwick Cemetery

- The Rev Lee Gangaware performed a service Saturday for Preston Stevenson Mabee, Sr, 86, of Lower Wisner Road, Warwick, who died December 11 at home
The son of the late John and Margaret Predmore Mabee, he was born January 7, 1899, in Warwick. He was a member of the Bellvale Methodist Church, a dairy farmer, and a lifelong Warwick resident.
Survivors include his wife, Anna VanDermulen Mabee at home; two daughters, Margaret Benedict of Bellvale, and Dorothy Mabee of Warwick; two sons Preston Mabee and Raymond Mabee, both of Warwick; one brother John Mabee of Warwick; two sisters, Margaret Batz of Bellvale and Viola Feist of Sun Lakes City, Arizona; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were by the Lazear-Smith Funeral Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, where the services were
held. Burial was in Warwick Cemetery, Warwick.

- Margaret Batz of Bellvale, a home maker and life time resident of the area, died Saturday, August 5, 2000, in the Schervier Pavilion, Warwick. She was 91. The Daughter of the late John and Margaret Predmore Mabee, she was born August 15, 1908, in Pine Island. She was the widow of Fred G. Batz, Sr. Mrs. Batz was a member of the Bellvale United Methodist Church; and Warwick Senior Citizens. Survivors include two sons Fred Batz and his wife, Jean and Michael John Batz and his wife, Fran; seven grandchildren, Michele, Michael, Margaret, Vicki, Kaye, William and Fred; 14 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one grandson, Robert Batz. ... Internment will be in Warwick Cemetery, Warwick.

The son of the late John E and Margaret Predmore Mabee, Sr, he was born Nov 17, 1902 in Amity. He was proprietor of an auction sales, Warwick.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Hall Mabee, at home; one son John H Mabee of Warwick; one daughter, Harriet Weiss of Warwick; two sisters, Margaret Batz of Bellvale and Viola Feist of Arizona; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
