- On the evening of November 21, 2002, Charles Rex Mabey, our loving husband, father, grandfather and brother passed from this earthly existence into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.
Charles was born January 1, 1922 to Daniel L. and LaVerne F. Mabey in Oakley, Idaho. Charles proudly served his country in the armed forces during World War II. Upon returning home from the war, Charles went on to serve two Stake Missions and has since served in many other callings, throughout his life, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Charles married his eternal sweetheart, Catherine Hartley, on August 20, 1965 for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.
Charles is survived by his wife, Catherine; sons, Brian (Linda), Keith, Michael (Sharon), Dennis (Christy), and Gary (Brenda); two daughters, Annette (David) Anderson and Karen (Peter) Kuhn; 29 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister Norma (Verl) Rees, Washington; brothers, Paul (Mae), Idaho; Robert (Marge), Logan; and Kent (Janet), California; many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald and Derald; sister, Roxy; and infant daughter.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 25, 2002 at 12:00 Noon at Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City. A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and one hour prior to the service.
Although time will heal the pain we feel, you will always be in our hearts and minds.

- Catherine Hartley Mabey, our sweet mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, was reunited with her eternal sweetheart and welcomed home by our Heavenly Father on March 9, 2009.Catherine was born on September 16, 1927 in Morecambe, Lancashire England to Clifford and Mary Hartley. She was the oldest of 13 children. Catherine married her eternal sweetheart, Charles Rex Mabey, on August 20, 1965 in the Salt Lake Temple. Catherine was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many different callings throughout her life. Catherine lived the gospel of our Savior, and had a strong testimony of it's truthfulness. Catherine is survived by her loving children, Brian (Linda), Keith, Michael, Dennis (Christy), Gary (Brenda), Annette (Dave) Anderson and Karen (Peter) Kuhn. Her posterity lives on through 29 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by eight sisters and four brothers. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a great-granddaughter. We would like to thank all of her doctors and the staff at St. Mark's Hospital, and Oquirrh Artificial Kidney Center for all of their loving care the last eight years. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 13, 2009 at 12:00 noon at the Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a visitation Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
