Paterson, New Jersey [4] |
- Frederick Mabie, a veteran of the civil war, died at his late residence, No. 11 Bank street, yesterday, in the presence of the members of his family. The deceased was sixty-three years of age and was a member of Chaplin Butler Post, No 35, GAR. For the past seven years he was confined to his bed with rheumatism, and it was only because of his remarkable vitality that he was able to undergo such intense suffering for so long a period. Up to twelve years ago the deceased was a resident of Ridgewood, and was at one time a prosperous contractor, the particular line which he followed being well digging. His malady prevented him from continuing his business and during recent years he has been an invalid. He is survived by his wife, two sons, four daughters, besides four brothers and a sister. His sons are John and Peter Mabie of Ridgewood, and his daughters, Mrs A. Dunlap, Mrs W. Goodell, Mrs P Nichols, of Ridgewood, and Mrs DeWitt Healey of Waldwick.
