- Harold P. Mabee, 42, member of the law firm of Weathers, Cody & Mabee, and prominent in civic and patriotic affairs here, died Sunday in St Edward's Hospital of bronchial-pneumonia following an operation.
Former reident of Indianapolis and son of William C. Mabee, retired chief engineer for the Indianapolis water works. Mr Mabee came to this city [New Albany] in 1937 and joined the law firm of which his father-in-law, the late Judge John H. Weathers, was a member. He was a member of the Floyd County Bar Society, Indiana Bar Association, the Masonic order, Scottish Rite, New Albany Country Club and Hutchinson Memorial Presbyterian Church, and director of the Mutual Trust Deposit Company.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs Marilee Mabee; three daughters, Marilyn, Carolyn and Virginia Mabee, and his parents who live in Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at Kraft's funeral home with burial in Fairview cemetery.

- William C. Mabee, 74 years old, 3637 Winthrop Avenue, retired chief engineer of the Indianapolis Water Company, died Thursday night in St Vincent's Hospital after an illness of several months.
Funeral services will be held Sunday in Flanner & Buchanan Mortuary.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, New Albany, Monday.
In his 42 years with the water utility, he took an important part in its growth. He retired April 1, 1944.
Among his contributions were the design and construction of the Geist Reservoir, Fall Creek Purification Plant, Blue Ridge and Irvington Elevated Water Tanks, White River Rapid Sand Filters and increased pumping facilities.
He was named chief engineer in 1928 aster serving as assistant chief engineer since 1917. In his early years he supervised construction work.
Mr Mabee twice was honored for outstanding work in the water works field.
In 1938 he received the John M Divin Memorial Medal from the American Water Works Association for his work on water main specifications. Later that year the Indiana section of the association presented him with the Fuller Award for meritorious work in the state group.
He was chairman of the Indiana section of the A.W.W.A. in 1934. He also was a member of the board of directors of the Indiana Water Company.
Born in New York City, March 9, 1874, Mr Mabee attended Brown University and before coming to Indianapolis worked for several eastern engineering concerns.
Survivors include the widow, Grace Mabee, to whom he was married in Rhode Isand in 1896, a daughter in law, Mrs Herald Mabee, and three granddaughters Misses Marilyn, Caroline, and Virginia Mabee, all of Indianapolis.
