- Evelyn H. Mabee, 88, passed away March 4, 2004.
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, she had been a Cleveland resident all her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Horace G.; daughter, Pamela Mabee; parents, five sisters, and one brother. Survivors include her sons, Dr. G. William (Sylvia) Mabee of Akron and Dr. Michael Scott (Nancy) Mabee of Mason, Ohio; nine grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment at Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairlawn Lutheran Church, 3415 W. Market St., Fairlawn, Ohio 44333. Tributes to remember the life of Evelyn can be made at www.mem.com

- Nancy Lee Mabee, 65, of Catawba Island died Saturday, July 13, 2013 at The Cleveland Clinic. She was born October 16, 1947 in Hazelton, PA the daughter of Norbert and Mary (Stasko) Wirick. She married Michael Mabee on September 1, 1978 and he survives. She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Port Clinton, OH.
Surviving are her husband, Michael; sons, Chad Michael (Jodi) Rowe of Berwick, PA and Jeffrey Allen (Sherri) Mabee of Marysville, OH; daughters, Jodie Marie (Jason) Rowe Stewart of Lagrange, GA and Patricia Lynne (Daryl) Mabee Kucera of Omaha, NB; grandchildren, Mitchell Scott Mabee, Courtney Lynne (Matt) Mabee Lucas, Chad Michael Rowe, Jr, Anna Lee Rowe, Abigail Lynn Rowe, Joshua Taylor Kucera, Haile Catherine Kucera; great grandchildren, Brayden J. Lucas, Owen Kenneth Rowe; sister: Beverly Ann Wirick Sampson of Virginia Beach, VA.
Memorial services will be conducted 1:00 pm Sunday, July 21, 2013 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Port Clinton, Ohio followed by entombment in the church columbarium. Rev. Holli Burkhard and Rev. - Dr Grant William Mabee (Bill) passed into the hands of our loving God on December 11, 2018 after a long illness. He was 82,
He was born January 8th 1936 in Cleveland Ohio to Dr Horace Grant Mabee, MD and Evelyn Watson Mabee. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Pamela Ann Mabee and beloved granddaughter, Sarah Margaret Ann Mabee. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Sylvia Ann Mabee; brother, Dr Michael Scott Mabee; five children including: Scott (Ellen) Mabee, Chris (Kim) Mabee, Stuart (Stephanie) Mabee, Michael Mabee and Michelle (Mike) Giovannelli; 10 grandchildren including Sean (Kelly) Mabee; Samantha (Blake) Moore, Lauren and Kendall Mabee, Jackson Mabee, Ethan and Will Mabee, and Caleb and Cameron Giovannelli; four great-grandchildren including, Sarah, Zoe and Arrow Moore and Rowan Mabee; and his Westie, Willie.
Bill grew up in Cleveland Heights and did his undergraduate training at The Ohio State University graduating in 1958. He then attended Queens University in Kingston Ontario for his medical school where his father also was educated, graduating in 1963. He then did postgraduate training in medicine and gastroenterology at Huron Road Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic. Bill and Sylvia then moved to the Akron area where Sylvia grew up. Bill practiced medicine for over 30 years at the Akron Clinic, St Thomas, Akron City, and Akron General Hospitals, the latter for which he served as chief of medical staff at one time.
Bill and Sylvia loved boating and spent many days, kids in tow, on the east end of Lake Erie near the islands. They continued in this adventure until health made it difficult late in life. He also loved his family dearly, practicing medicine (missing it in retirement), visiting Florida in the winter months, watching the Buckeyes and Cavs play, and listening to John Denver and the Ohio State marching band. Dr. Michael Scott Mabee, 84, of Marysville and formerly of Catawba Island, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, OH. Born January 19, 1941, in East Cleveland the son of Dr. Horace Grant and Evelyn H. (Watson) Mabee. As a military child, he lived in numerous places. Upon graduating high school in Cleveland, he attended the Ohio State University for undergraduate school and later returned to earn a PhD in Microbiology. He was a faithful Buckeye fan, proudly flying his OSU flag every football game day. He started his career in Colorado where he worked for Coors as the head of the microbiology department, returning to Ohio to work in research and development for Combibloc and then eventually retiring from International Paper where he also worked in research and development. A favorite pastime, Mike was an avid boater for over 50 years, spending many of his summers and then retiring to Lake Erie. He married the love of his life, Nancy Lee Wirick, on September 1, 1978, celebrating 35 years of marriage until she preceded him in death on July 13, 2013. Mike was a proud member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Port Clinton, OH. He was a man of deep faith, who lived his life in accordance to those beliefs.
Surviving are his children: Chad Michael (Jodi) Rowe, Sr. of Berwick, PA, Jodie Marie (Jason) Rowe Stewart of Lagrange, GA, Patricia Lynn (Daryl) Mabee Kucera of Omaha, NE, Jeffrey Allen (Sherri) Mabee of Marysville, OH; grandchildren: Mitchell Scott (Jenna) Mabee, Courtney Lynne (Mike) Sappington, Joshua Taylor Kucera, Haile Catherine (Michael) McAnally, Chad Michael Rowe, Jr., Anna Lee (Richard) Cashman, Abigail Lynn (Ethan) Thomas, Rayne Ayn (Ezekiel) Benick; great-grandchildren: Brayden J. Lucas, Sayge Jeffrey Lucas, Grayson Joseph Lucas, Kayce Mical Sappington, Owen Kenneth Rowe, Charleigh Rowe, Ella Mae Cashman, Ryker Jensen Thomas, Jethro Miles Thomas, a niece, several nephews and last but not least his beloved dog, Bailey, who has been his constant companion for the last 12 years. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother: Dr. William G. Mabee and sister: Pamela Mabee.
