- Durwood M. Maybee, 81 year-old Seminole resident passed from this life on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 19, 1930 in Barryton, Michigan to parents Maitland James Maybee and Mary Ester (Foster) Maybee.
Durwood served in Korea in the United States Army where he earned the rank of Sergeant. He married Josie Francis Romines on June 5, 1948 in Vernon, Texas.
Durwood was of the Methodist faith and was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.) and the American Legion. He had worked as a truck driver, factory worker, and worked for the state. The last ten years of his working career he worked for the City of Seminole where the couple moved 30 years ago from Webberville, Michigan. Durwood was also an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years Josie Francis (Romines) Maybee of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Helen Maybee of Fowlerville, Michigan, Bruce and Patricia Maybee of Muskegon, Michigan; one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Michael Callihan of Foley, Alabama; one sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Victor Howell of Michigan; six grandchildren, Jeffery, Brian, D.J., Craig, Christopher and Stephanie; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Durwood is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Mike, Virgil, Dale Maybee, and one infant brother.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Little Cemetery Chapel in Seminole County, Oklahoma with Rev. Bill Chesser officiating. Interment followed at Little Cemetery.
Services were under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma

- Josie Frances Maybee, 79, Seminole resident died Monday, July 2, 2012 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Josie was born February 16, 1933 in Snyder, Oklahoma to Willie Craig and Madiline (Murry) Romines.
Josie was a homemaker, who cared for her family. She was an artist, made beautiful handmade quilts and loved to make dolls.
Josie married Durwood Maybee on June 5, 1948 in Vernon, Texas. Durwood, sadly preceded her in death on February 16, 2012 in Seminole.
Josie is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Ellen Maybee of Fowlerville, Michigan, Bruce and Patricia Maybee of Muskegon, Michigan; one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Michael Callihan of Foley, Alabama. Six grandchildren Jeffery, Brian, D.J., Craig, Christopher and Stephanie, and a host of dear friends also survive her.
Josie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Durwood Maybee and a brother and a sister.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the Little Cemetery Chapel inside Little Cemetery with Rev. Bill Chesser officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.

David Craig Maybee, age 68, from Fowlerville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6th 2020 in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by loved ones. He is the son of the late Durwood and Josie Maybee. David married his wife Ellen on August 14th 1982. They raised one son, David James (Savannah). David is a graduate of Fowlerville High School class of 1970. After leaving school, David served in the United States Army for nine years as a Light Weapon Infantryman and Still Photographer. David soon received an honorable discharge as a Sergeant. David worked at Bob Smith Ford for several years as the General Manager and Medilodge of Howell as the Supervisor of Maintenance. He loved attempting to play golf and watching the Lions attempt to play football. David, Dave, Dad, Uncle Dave, and pain in the ass were some of the many names he went by. David was a beloved husband, father, uncle, and friend. His unmatched sense of humor, knowledge of just about everything, and loving spirit will forever be missed. Every family gathering will never be the same. A private family viewing was held. Burial will take place on Wednesday at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
