- Edna E. (Maybee) Stewart, November 20, 1919 - August 31, 2008
Peacefully, surrounded by a circle of love, on Sunday, August 31, following a brief illness in her 89th year. Born and lived in Brighton Township except for eleven years when she shared in cheese making with her husband at Mountain View Cheese factory. Loving and devoted wife for 69 years to Stirling P. Stewart, Golden Pond Retirement Residence. Cherished and respected Mom to Margaret and Jack Alexander, Belleville; Paul and Gale Stewart, Vancouver; Peter and Rosemary Stewart, Stirlane Farm, Brighton; Martha and Jack Pearce, The County; Bruce and Bev Stewart, Stirlane Farm, Brighton. Treasured Grandma to Beth (Hugh), Peter (Jen), Stephen (Lisa), Drew (Sophie), Sarah (Harry), Eleanor (Ryan) Katherine (John), David (Stephanie), Dan, Laura, and John (Hayley). Proud Great Grandma of eight. Edna is also survived by sister Helen Adams and sister-in-law Doris Stewart. A celebration of Edna's life will take place Saturday, September 6 at 11 a.m. at Carman United Church, Carman Road. A reception and a time for conversation and sharing will follow at the Carman Church Hall until 3 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Carman United Church Restoration Fund.
