  	Ithaca Police Department Detective Steven Mabee, 39, of 549 Hayts Road, died Thursday, November 3, 1988 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born in Ithaca, a son of Helena Sincebaugh Mabee and the late Norman Mabee. He attended Ithaca schools and was a 1967 graduate of Ithaca High School. Mabee was an 18 year veteran of the police force. He was appointed an officer on Oct 18, 1970 and assigned to the detective division in August 1985. He had been issues several letters of commendation from within and outside the police department. He was a member of the Ithaca Police Benevolent Association. I addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Beatrice Terwilliger of Ithaca; a son Steven Scott Mabee of Ithaca; a sister Carol Mabee of Houston, Texas; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Services with full police honors will be held Monday at the First Presbyterian Church of Ithaca with the Rev David S Shew officiating. Burial will be in Frear Memorial Park
