- Margaret Payne Mabey, 63, wife of Joseph L. Mabey, died early today at the family home in Clearfield, after a short illness.
Mrs Mabey was born in Kaysville, Sept 9, 1877, a daughter of George H. And Harriet Phillips Payne, early pioneers of that community. The family moved to Syracuse when Mrs Mabey was still an infant and she resided there until her marriage , May 28 1903. She had lived there since with the exception of four years spent in Paul, Idaho. She was a sister-in-law of former Governor Charles R. Mabey.
Surviving are her husband, the following sons and daughters: Charles Myron Mabey, Clearfield, Mrs Louise Mattenet, Vallejo, Calif; Mrs Margaret Adams, Layton; Mrs Helen Adams, Bountiful; Lieut. Joseph L Mabey, March field, Calif, and Kathleen Mabey, a student at the U. S. A. C. At Logan; brothers and sisters: Henry Payne, Paul, Idaho; Joseph P. Payne, Burley, Idaho; John Payne, Heburn, Idaho, Myron Payne, Syracuse, and Mrs Harriet Robinson, Sandy and five grandchildren,

- Louise Mabey Mettenet of San Bernardino, born May 19, 1907 in Clearfield, Utah, was a resident of San Bernardino for 40 years, died May 24, 1988 at the age of 81. She was married for 58 years to Ralph R. Mettenet and worked forty years as a registered nurse. She was a devoted grandmother and was survived by her grandchildren, Joseph, Greg and Julie Johnson, great-grandsons, Thomas and Michael, brother, Charle Mabey, sisters, Marge and Helen Adams of Utah and Kathleen Lloyd of Mill Valley. Chapel services are at 10 a.m. on Friday at Grove Colonial Mortuary, followed by interment at Montecito Memorial Park.

- Charles Myron Mabey, Sr., 83, died on Monday, January 1, 1990 at a Clearfield nursing home following a long illness.
He was born March 17, 1906 in Clearfield, a son of Joseph L., Sr. and Margaret Payne Mabey. Married Lucille Pullum on July 31, 1932 in Clearfield, she died on June 3, 1982. He married Dona Rae Brinton on October 15, 1987 in Elko, Nevada. He had lived most of his life in Clearfield. He graduated from Paul, Idaho High School and attended Idaho State College for one year and the U of U for one year. He was a member of the Clearfield First LDS Ward.
Mr. Mabey was selected by the Davis County Council on Aging as the ''Outstanding Senior Citizen for the State of Utah'' in 1978; he was also selected as the ''Outstanding Senior Citizen of Clearfield'' in 1979; awarded by the Clearfield Chamber of Commerce. Volunteer services for the benefit of Senior Citizens on an area, community, church, county and state level were considered in making this award. He was an honorary life member of the Golden Spike Gem and Mineral Society. Mr. Mabey was 2nd Vice Chairman of the Council on Aging Board and had served on the Executive Committee, the Transportation Committee, the Finance Committee and the Nutrition Council. He was the past chairman of the Davis County Nutrition Council. Mr. Mabey had taught two weekly classes in Lapidary at the Heritage Center and had served as a consultant to the Building Committee in planning and equipping the Lapidary shop in the new Golden Years Senior Center. All of this service was volunteer. He was a retired employee of the U.S. Post Office Department and received a National Safety Award for 35 years of accident free driving. He was a charter member and had served as president of the Kiwanis Club of Clearfield. He had also served as Chairman of the American's Abroad Program. Mr. Mabey had been a national vice president for the National Association of Rural Letter Carriers, vice president of the Clearfield Senior Citizens Club and director of the Clearfield Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Ogden Elks Lodge No. 719 and Ogden Eagles Aerie 2472. Mr. Mabey's hobby was lapidary and silver crafting and he was always happy to share his knowledge and experience with any interested person.
Surviving are his wife, Clearfield; two sons, Richard R. Mabey, Roy; Charles Myron Mabey, Jr., Clearfield; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Blaine (Marge) Adams, Layton; Mrs. Allen (Helen) Adams, Logan; Mrs. Russell (Kathleen) Lloyd, Mill Valley, California.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Clearfield First Ward Chapel, 326 Center Street, with Bishop David W. Monson officiating. Friends may call at Lindquist's Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 South State Street on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday at the Ward Chapel from noon to 12:45 p.m. Interment: Aultorest Memorial Park.
