- The death of Alvin H Mabee, age 83 years of 804 431 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, occurred in a local hospital pm May 21st, 1982. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday in the Chapel of McKague's Funeral Home conducted by Rev Alexander Gaspar. Surviving are his loving with Lilian; two daughters, Mrs Stewart (Hazel) Borland of Manotick, Ontario, and Mrs Donald A (Ruth) Newbigging, of Saskatoon; nine grandchildren...; three great granddaughters...., and several nieces and nephews. Mr Mabee was predeceased by both his parents and by a sister, Lula Deugau, in 1977. Mr Mabee was born in El Paso, Texas, and moved with his family to Toronto as a child, and in 1908 moved west to Saskatoon with his family. His father was a locomotive engineer with the Canadian National Railways and Alvin followed in his father's footsteps with the Canadian National Railways as a machinist in 19202 until his retirement in 1964. Mr and Mrs Mabee celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary in April of 1980... Interment will be made in Woodlawn Cemetery.

- The death of Lillian Mabee occurred in Royal University Hospital on Sunday, March 29, 1992 in her 92nd year. Mrs Mabee has been a resident of Luther Tower for the past eleven years. Surviving are two daughters, Hazel (Stewart) Borland of Ottawa, Ontario and Ruth (Don) Newbigging of Saskatoon, nine grandchildren, Nancy (Tim) Unkrur, Seattle, Wash, Dr Dunvan (Rixzene Borland, Columbus, Ohio, David (Carol) Newbigging, Saskatoon, Philip (Audry) Newbigging, Calgary, Alberta, Janie (Randy) Kendel, Saskatoon, Janice (Jim) Roberts, Ottawa, Ontario, Karen (Dan) Campbell, Rosetown, Sask, Doug (Kathy) Borland, Ottawa, Ontario. Paul (Brenda) Newbigging, Saskatoon. Thirteen great grandchildren.... Also one sister-in-law, Pauline Seward, Burnaby, BC. Mrs Mabee was predeceased by her loving husband, Alvin in 1982, her parents, Kate and Arthur Seward and one brother, Clarence Seward. Mrs Mabee was born in Doncaster, England came with her parents to Saskatoon as a child. She the years she was very involved with her church, Third Avenue United in Saskatoon and Melville United Church in Melville, Sask, where Lillian and Alvin resided for 11 years, she enjoyed singing in the choir and working in the ladies circles. Lillian enjoyed her family and was happiest when with them and in particular loved to have her grandchildren and great grandchildren with her. She kept the knitting needles on the go during her 92 years. She enjoyed lawn bowling when health permitted. Lillian has truly enjoyed every minute in the past years at Luther Towers, singing in the Towers Singers and taking part in many craft activities.... The Funeral Service will be held from the chapel of the Lutheran Sunset Home, Saskatoon on Wednesday conducted by Pastor Gene Grant and Rev Dr Alan Minarcik. Interment will be made in the family plot, Woodlawn Cemetery.
