  	Margaret Emma Maybee died peacefully, at St. Joseph's Health Centre, Toronto, on Friday, June 1, 2001. Dear sister of the late John and Robert Maybee. Beloved aunt of Laura, Joanne, Glenn, Mark, Siobhan, Jonathan (Toronto), Tina, Melissa, Amy and Jonathan (California). Fondly remembered by sisters-in-law Joan and Gloria Maybee, as well as her many friends. At the request of Margaret, cremation has taken place. There will be a Graveside Service on Wednesday, June 6th, 2001 at 3 p.m. at Park Lawn Cemetery (Section G), followed by a reception at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, at Windermere, at approximately 3:30 p.m. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. Joseph's Emergency Department for their tireless efforts and compassion. If desired, remembrances may be made to the St. Joseph Health Centre, in Margaret's memory.

  	Dorothy "Joan" Maybee, a registered nurse for 32 years, died of cancer July 6, 2005, in Cathedral City. She was 75 years old. A native of Ontario, Canada, she was a resident of Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley for 30 years. She was born Nov. 23, 1929, to Murray and Grace Pettinger. Mrs. Maybee was a registered nurse and a member of the California Nurses Association for 32 years. She belonged to the Copper Mountain Mesa Association for 20 years. Her husband of 75 years, Robert E. Maybee, preceded her in death on April 5, 1992. She is survived by daughter Joanne Maybee of Cathedral City, sons Glen Maybee of West Covina and Mark Maybee of Joshua Tree, sister Lois McDonald of Fallbrook, brothers Glen Pettinger of Perth, Ontario, Canada, and Gary Pettinger of San Francisco, four grandchildren and one great-grandson. A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Copper Mountain Mesa Community Center. The family suggests memorials be made to the Joan Maybee Nursing Scholarship Fund at College of the Desert Foundation, 43500 Monterey Avenue, Palm Desert, CA 92262.
