  Anecdote	Mona May Mitchell was born May 27, 1892 in Sandborn, Iowa, where she received her education. She was married to C. M. Grogan; he passed away in 1913. The young widow then came to Montana in 1915, with a sister, and taught school in eastern Montana. She attended Mankato Commercial College for a year then worked as a bookkeeper in Miles City for several years. She resumed teaching in 1923 and taught throughout the state before coming to Fergus County where she taught for 36 years. She taught the Zuley School in the 30's and 40's.

  	Mrs Mona May Mabee, 80, Roy, died Saturday at Central Montana Hospital, Lewistown. She was born May 27, 1882, at Sanborn, Iowa, a daughter of Mr and Mrs Wallace Mitchell. She was married to Sam Grogan who died in 1913. She and a sister moved to Montana where she taught schools at Ollie and Baker. She attended Mankato, Minn. Commercial College one year and moved to Miles City where she worked as a bookkeeper five years. In 1923 she began teaching in Powder River County and later in Galletin County and 23 years in Fergus County. She was married to Fred Maybee in 1956 at Roy and the same year received her degree in education from Eastern Washington College of Education in Cheney. In 1958 she retired from teaching. Survivors include the widower; a daughter Mrs Joe O'Hare, Colton, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs R. P. Miller, Miles City, and Mrs A. B. Jones, Clarksville, Ariz.; and two grandchildren Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Cloyd Funeral Chapel, the Rev. George Barnhart, First United Presbyterial Church officiating. Burial will be in Lewistown City Cemetery
