  	Mrs Margaret Mabee, 72, a former Newburgh resident, widow of Seeley Mabee, died on Saturday (June, 1, 1940) in the home of her daughter, Mrs Robert Carson of Bates' Gates. Formerly Miss Margaret Barber, she was born in Cleveland, a daughter of the late Allen and Katherine Ackerman Barber. Mrs Mabee, a member of the Church of the Sacred Heart, Newburgh, formerly lived in Goshen for more than 40 years. Besides Mrs Carson, she is survived by two other daughters, Nellie, wife of Capt William Mills of Goshen and Mrs Hazel J Martin of 270 First Street, Newburgh; three grandchildren, Harold and Edward Carson of Bates' Gates, and Seeley Mills of Goshen. The funeral was held this morning from the house of her daughter at Bates'. A solemn High Mass of Requiem was offered in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Middletown. Burial was in Slate Hill Cemetery, Goshen, by Isaac Hasbrouck.
