Stanton, Nebraska [6] |
- Doris Mabie, 16, daughter of Harry Mabie of Stanton, drowned about 6 a.m. Saturday, when she failed in an attempt to swim the long way of the new Stanton swimming pool, after diving off the low diving board. All efforts to revive the girl, who would have been a junior in Stanton high school next fall, failed. Besides her father, she is survived by three brothers, Hal, Hugh and Lee.
Hugh Mabie who is in the CCC camp at Nelson, left Saturday night for Stanton to attend the funeral services for his sister.
