- Lewis J Mabee, 73, of 234 Greenwich Ave, Goshen, died Thursday at Arden Hill Hospital, Goshen, after a long illness.
He was born Sept 20, 1884, the son of John and Hattie Wood Mabee. He married the former Susie V Labar.
A 45 year resident of Goshen, Mabee was a retired farmer.
Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs Mildred Gunther of Livingston NJ, Mrs Bernice Mapes, and Mrs Lois Broughton, both of Middletown; a sister Mrs Gertrude Labar of Goshen.
Funeral services will be at the Donovan Funeral Home, Goshen, the Rev Douglas Osgood will officiate.
Burial will be in Warwick Cemetery.

- Bernace Mapes of Middletown, a Retired School Nurse Teacher with the Goshen Central School and a lifelong resident of the area, died August 18, 2004. She was born September 5, 1917 to Lewis and Susan Mabee and wife of the late Kenneth Mapes. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Middletown, Retired Tri State Teachers Association, NYS United Teachers Association, and American Association of Retired Persons. She is survived by her daughter, Georgene Giles; granddaughter, Kathy Botens and her companion, Doug Cherry, and their son, Dylan; grandson, Kenneth Botens and his wife, Shannon, and daughter, Jessica; and one sister, Lois Broughton, all of Middletown; and a niece and nephews. Visitation will be on Friday, August 20 from 11 to 12 p.m. Service will be at 12 p.m. at the Morse Funeral Home. Burial will be at Warwick Cemetery, Warwick. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Morse Funeral Home, 33 Railroad Ave., Middletown.
