  	Ken Dean Maybee, born June 20, 1946, passed November 7, 2013 after a brief illness. Born in Arkansas, Ken came to Sonoma County in his youth and lived a lively and full life in the west of the county, centered mostly in Graton, long before it was a destination for the upscale set. His hobbies and pastimes were less the subject of a family paper, and sometimes less on the right side of things as polite society might judge them, but an honest man he remained throughout, and up to the end, of his life. While he could turn a phrase with the best of them, he was never one to use fancy words where directness best served. While gruff and at times reckless, Ken was a loyal and caring man to family and those close to him. It is to those who will miss him the most. Ken is preceded in death by his son, Jeff(Jay), and his older brother Kenneth. He is survived by his brother, Jim, and his sister, Wanda, as well as many nephews and nieces. Family and friends will hold a graveside service on 11 a.m., November 14 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sebastopol. A 9:30 a.m. viewing is also scheduled for the same day.
