- Rita E. Rutkowski Mabie, age 76, of Erie, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. She was born in Erie on July 8, 1937 a daughter of the late John and Stella Anysz Rutkowski. She graduated from Villa Maria Academy in 1955 and received a Bachelors Degree from Villa College. She was a Teacher in the Erie School District for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Luke Church. While working at St. Vincent Hospital, Rita met the love of her life and best friend, Regis Mabie, whom she had been married to for almost 53 years. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and family. She is preceded in death by a sister, Alice Cieslikowski and a son-in-law, Daniel Harrison. She is survived by her loving husband, Regis Mabie, three daughters, Carolyn Schwartz and her husband Mike, Mimi Wilwohl and her husband Rick and Sue Kalie and her husband Mike all of Erie, a son, Paul Mabie of Erie, twelve grandchildren, Michael and Christopher Schwartz, Erica, Brittany and Kayla Wilwohl, Nicholas, Raechel and Joseph Mabie, Ashly, Sara and Daniel Harrison and Jessica Anaya and her husband Robert, five great-grandchildren, Kaelynn and Kyle Kindle and Xavier, Addison and Annabelle Anaya, her dogs, Brigitta and Liesl and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Monday at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, Inc. 2502 Sassafras St. Erie, PA. 16502 from 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to a service there on Tuesday morning at 9:15 followed by the Funeral Mass at St. Luke Church at 10 am.
