- Robert G. "Bobby" Maybie, 43, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald. Interment will follow at Lawrence Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Survivors include his parents, Robert G. "Bob" and Patricia Ann Stephens Maybie of Fitzgerald; a son, Brandon Robert Maybie of Tampa, Fla.; his companion, Grace Maybie of Jacksonville, Fla.; brothers Donald G. Maybie, Joseph K. Maybie, Douglas K. Maybie and G. Alex Maybie, all of Fitzgerald, Clay Crenshaw of Minnesota, Danny Gowen and Donny Gowen, both of Tampa; and a sister, Barbara Jean Gowen of Nevada. Paulk Funeral Home, Fitzgerald, is in charge of arrangements.

- Robert G. Bob Maybie, 69, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Phoebe Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held at 4 P.M., Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with Joseph Maybie officiating. Interment will follow in Lawrence Cemetery, Tift County. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Monday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Maybie was born December 12, 1942 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Robert Burton Maybie and Dorothy Mae Davis Maybie Fleischman. He served in the United States Army Reserve for six years. Mr. Maybie was a public utilities contractor for Four Points and Marconi, specializing in communications. He had lived in Fitzgerald for the past 22 years, coming from Tampa, Florida. He was a member of Snowden Road Holiness Church, where he served as pastor to the congregation.
He is survived by his wife of almost 48 years: Patricia Ann Stephens Maybie; sons and daughters-in-law: Donald Gerald Maybie, Joseph Maybie & Janet, Douglas Keith Maybie & Becky, and G. Alex Maybie & Christy, all of Fitzgerald; 19 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; a brother: Ronald Shaulis of Arlington, Texas, and a sister: Carolyn Cherocci of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Robert G. Bobby Maybie, Jr. and a brother: Johnny Fleischman.
