- Burl L. Maybee, 85, a longtime Yakima resident, went home to be with his Lord, Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at Willow Springs. Burl was born June 30, 1921, at Highlandville, Missouri, to Eugene and Minnie (Roberts) Maybee. He was raised and educated in Springfield, Missouri, and married Beatrice Haslip on November 15, 1941, in Ozark, Missouri. The family moved to Yakima in 1958.
Burl worked as a hod carrier for many years and was a member of the Laborer's Union. He retired when he was 58 years old.
He deeply loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his four sons, twins Tim (Florence) Maybee of Selah and Jim (Faye) Maybee of Yakima, and Larry (Pearl) Maybee and Keith (Abbie) Maybee, all of Yakima; fifteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren; three sisters, Murl Wells and Velva Rose, both of Springfield, Missouri, and Barbara Harley of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother, Leo (Marian) Maybee of Moxee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burl was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Minnie Maybee; his wife, Beatrice Maybee on February 9, 1990; three brothers, Clifford, Clinton and Ray; and one sister, Faye.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2006, at West Hills Memorial Park. Those attending should meet at the cemetery

- Larry Dale Maybee, 71, born in Springfield, Missouri on May 10, 1943, unexpectedly passed away on February 19, 2015 in Yakima, WA after a short battle with cancer.
He enjoyed being self employed as a Masonry Contractor for over 50 years. Larry's passions were hunting, fishing, woodworking, black powder shooting, Bluegrass music, singing, and playing the banjo. His greatest passion, however, was his love for his family, and spending time with his loving wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pearl Carolyn (Kennedy) Maybee (Yakima); his four children, Rick and Betty Maybee (Yakima), Brian and Kerrie Maybee (Selah), Kevin Maybee (Yakima), and Penny and Dave Pittman (Selah); his three brothers, Tim and Florence Maybee (Selah), Jim and Faye Maybee (Yakima), and Keith and Abbey Maybee (Yakima); along with 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Larry is preceded in death by his father, Burl Maybee; mother, Beatrice (Haslip) Maybee, and grandson Zachary Burwell.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Ahtanum Valley Assembly of God, Yakima. Graveside services following at West Hills Memorial Park.
