- Mrs Margaret Mabee, 72, a former Newburgh resident, widow of Seeley Mabee, died on Saturday (June, 1, 1940) in the home of her daughter, Mrs Robert Carson of Bates' Gates. Formerly Miss Margaret Barber, she was born in Cleveland, a daughter of the late Allen and Katherine Ackerman Barber. Mrs Mabee, a member of the Church of the Sacred Heart, Newburgh, formerly lived in Goshen for more than 40 years.
Besides Mrs Carson, she is survived by two other daughters, Nellie, wife of Capt William Mills of Goshen and Mrs Hazel J Martin of 270 First Street, Newburgh; three grandchildren, Harold and Edward Carson of Bates' Gates, and Seeley Mills of Goshen.
The funeral was held this morning from the house of her daughter at Bates'. A solemn High Mass of Requiem was offered in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Middletown. Burial was in Slate Hill Cemetery, Goshen, by Isaac Hasbrouck.

- Robert J. Carson, RD1, New Hampton, died Saturday in the Kingsbridge Veteran's Hospital here following a long illness. He was 67
He was born in New York City, June 20, 1891, son of Charles and Frances Brady Carson, He was married to the former Ethel Mabee on Nov 4, 1922.
He was a lifelong resident of New Hampton and was employed as a plumber. He was a member of the North Congregational Church and the Middletown Post, American Legion.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Chief Warrant Officer, Edward Carson of Fort Niagara, NY, and Harold Carson of Chicago, a sister Miss Belle Carson of Middletown and two brothers, Charles and George, both of Middletown.
Services will we held Wednesday at the Hasbrouck Funeral Chapel, the Rev Ferdinand A Kurtz officiating.
Burial will be in Slate Hill Cemetery, Goshen.

He was married to Margaret Butts, who died two years ago.
He is survived by five children in Presque Isle, his mother, Mrs Ethel Carson, and a brother, Harold of Chicago.
