  	Dorothy Mackin, who helped put Cripple Creek on the map as a tourist town when she and her husband started a melodrama there nearly 50 years ago, died Wednesday at her winter home of Tucson, Arizona. She was 78. She was a founding member of the Cripple Creek District Museum and a past president of its Board of Directors. She was a member of the Rocky Mountain Writers Guild and was listed in Who's Who in the West. Dorothy Mackin was born July 16, 1917, in Hayden. On March 5, 1946, she married Wayne Mackin, who lives in Colorado Springs during the summer. She also is survived by two sons, Stephen of Cripple Creek and Jeffrey of Colorado Springs; a daughter, Susan of Decatur, Georgia; a sister Alice, of Tucson, Arizona; and three grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 11 AM April 8 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Cripple Creek, Colorado.
