- I, Jeremiah Mabie, of Thurston County, Washington Territory, do hereby make and publish this, my last will and testament.
First. I give to my son Colby Mabie, and to Frances E. Mabie and William A Mabie, children of my son Andrew Mabie all my real estate, to be equally divided between them.
Second. I desire and direct that the administrator of my estate make sale of all my personal property according to law, and after payments of my just debts, that the net proceeds of such sale to be divided equally, one half to my son Colby and to the two children of my son Andrew.
Third. In the event my son Colby should not survive me, I desire that his children have the half of my estate bequeathed to him above.

- The Courier says: On Tuesday morning, 31st ult. Jeremiah Mabie, who resides about seven miles south of Olympia, was found in his bed, helpless and unconscious, but breathing very hard. Number of the neighbors immediately repaired to his house and used all the means at hand to rouse him without avail. Dr Waugbop was called, and upon examination pronounced the disease paralysis, from which there was no chance of his recovery. He remained in the same unconscious condition up to 11 o'clock on Thursday nigh, when he died. Mr Mabie has a son and daughter residing in Portland.
