| Obituary |
- Mrs. Thos. B. Fulcher, died last Saturday, had resided in Milan township many years, was well known and highly respected, funeral sermon by Rev. Geo. B. March. Esther Maybee was born in Medina, OH, March 1, 1838, and coming to Michigan in early life was united in marriage with Thomas B. Fulcher of Coldwater, MI, Feb. 23, 1868. To them were born four children, namely, Clark A. of Monroe, Perry, who died in infancy and Milo O. and Mrs. Julia Lee of Milan. In addition to the above children there is also surviving, Porter of London, a son of Mr. Fulcher by a pervious marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Fulcher lived on a farm in Milan township until eight years ago when they were to Scofield. Two years ago they took up their home life with their children. Mrs. Fulcher was converted in the great revival that visited Milan in 1891 under the ministry of Rev. Geo. Sloan, then pastor of the Milan M. E. church, and was received into the church, later taking her membership to the Scofield M. E. church, where it remained until her death. Two years ago last January Mrs. Fulcher was stricken with serious illness and lingered along bearing her afflictions with great patience and Christian fortitude until Saturday morning, Aug. 22, at 7 o'clock, when death came, releasing her from the long suffering which must have been greater than ever words of here expressed. Recognizing that death to her is gain we nevertheless mourn the departure of this elect lady from the homes of her children and the circles of friends, in the various places she had resided, who loved her dearly for her excellencies of character and warmhearted, neighborly disposition towards all. Mr. Fulcher, her husband, preceded her in death in May of this year, his passing away coming suddenly on the 6th of that month. This affliction was borne bravely by our deceased friend. The interval between was brief. We hope and trust they are now reunited in the better world. The funeral took place Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of her son, Milo, in the village where she had been for a month. The funeral was preached by Rev. Geo. B. Marsh of Detroit. Card of thanks. We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to our many friends for their kindness in our recent bereavement in the loss of our beloved mother and for the beautiful floral offerings. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Fulcher, Mr. and Mrs. Milo Fulcher, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Lee, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Fulcher.
