- Simon Veeder. 63 years old. a farmer living about one mile, west of Rotterdam Junction, committed suicide yesterday morning about 6 o'clock by shooting himself with a large bore shotgun. Domestic troubles, it is said, were the cause.
He had gone to a small closet off the bedroom, arranging the gun so as to be able to fire it with his foot, seated himself in a chair and kicked the trigger. The muzzle had been placed against the man's left breast and death was instantaneous.
Coroner B. H. Jackson was called and gave his verdict as death by suicide.
The dead man had always lived in the house where he took his life. having been born there. He was a son of Myndert and Katherine Mabie Veeder He is survived by his wife. three daughters, Ethel Veeder of this city. Mrs. Charles Pierson of Rotterdam Junction and Jessie Veeder. who lives at home.
