  	Mrs. Elva Maybee Taylor, 97, mother of three area men, died in a nursing home in Des Moines, Iowa, Oct 26. She was born in St. Lawrence County on July 5. 1880, the daughter of Minard and Alice Mattoon Maybee. A former Rome resident, she lived for many years in Iowa and Missouri. She was married to Lewis Sykes in the Town of Steuben in 1902. She was later married to Sherman L. Taylor. She is survived by three sons. Gerald Sykes, Town of Ava, and Kenneth Sykes and Arnold (Mike) Sykes. both of Westernville; 14 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
