  	The funeral of Catherine Elizabeth (Mabee) Putnam, who died Saturday at her home in Rotterdam, took place at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the house and burial was in the cemetery of the Cobblestone church; Mrs. Putnam was the daughter of Simon and Hannah (Marlette) Mabee of Rotterdam. The house In which she was born is probably the oldest in the Mohawk valley, the walls having been erected in 1670. Mrs Putnam always lived in Rotterdam and was widely known and respected. She was a member of the Reformed church, better known as the Cobblestone church, and was. an active worker as well as being much given to private philanthropy. She is survived by a son and daughter, Mrs. Charles Henry and Simon Putnam, both of whom made their home with their mother on the homestead less than a mile from where she was born. She also leaves two sisters. Margaret Mabee and Mrs. George Scrafford, both of Rotterdam Junction
