oObit*15 February 2005  On 15 February 2005 at Janesville, Wisconsin, the obituary of Esther Sandra Hawkins read: Esther S. Mabie, 66, a resident of Deerview Meadows, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at Mercy Hospital. She was born in Portage, WI, on April 5, 1938, the daughter of Charles and Katie (Literski) Hawkins, and graduated from Wisconsin Rapids High School. She married Jackson Mabie on Dec. 3, 1966, in Whitewater. He preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 2001. They had 3 children: Gordon, Arella and Sony. She is survived by her brother, Donald Hawkins; and a cousin, Viola (David) Stensberg of Nekoosa. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at the Schneider Apfel Schneider & Schneider Funeral Home, with Rev. Jared Parmley of Faith Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Juda. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.1
