He was born in Hannibal, Mo. on December 3, 1944 to Ella Louise and Donald L. Eager. He grew up in various US cities as the Navy transferred his step father, C.W. Fair, from coast to coast. While in the Coast Guard, Don was sent to Seattle and met his life long friends, James Woods and Dick Ostrom.
