- Marguerite I. Mabee Draughon, 82, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, at the Andover Nursing Home in Sparta.
Born in Warwick, N.Y., Mrs. Draughon lived at Lake Hopatcong before moving to Sparta many years ago. She worked as a school bus driver for the Village Bus Company in Sparta for 20 years, retiring in 1987. She was a past member of the Newton Moose Lodge No. 432.
Mrs. Draughon is survived by her husband, Wilburn; three daughters, Evelyn Nepa of Montague, Beverly of Milford, Pa., and Minnie Jean Jennings of Locust Grove, Ga.; two sons, Wilburn "Sonny" Jr. of Pennsylvania, and Robert of New Mexico; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; and four sisters, Mary Goble, Dorothy Talmadge, Evelyn Cancelliere and Nora Cooper. She was predeceased by five brothers, Robert, Ronald, Lawrence, Fred and Herb Mabee.
A funeral service will be held at the Goble Funeral Home in Sparta at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

- Wilburn Boston Draughon Sr., 91, of Sparta, passed away Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at Andover Subacute and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his loving family.
Boston was born in Wicksburg, Ala., and was a resident of Sparta for 52 years. He was a proud member of the U.S. Navy serving in WWII, and was also a member of the American Legion Post No. 245 in Lake Hopatcong and the Newton Moose Lodge No. 432 where he served as Past Governor. He worked for the Jefferson Township Road Department and Berkshire Valley Sand and Gravel before working at Grinnell Inc., in Sparta.
Boston was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marguerite, and his devoted son, Robert. He is survived by his loving children, Evelyn Nepa and her husband, Jim, of Andover, Beverly Hughes and her husband, Bill, of Milford, Pa., Wilburn B. Draughon and his wife, Victoria, of Newton, and Minnie Jennings and her husband, Tom, of Locust Grove, Ga.; as well as 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and his sister, Doris Groves, of Stark, Fla.
Friends may call Thursday, from 4-7 p.m., at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta. A funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project
