- Leslie R. Mabie, age 92, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014, at Nazareth Health & Rehabilitation. He was born in Brodhead, on Dec. 17, 1921, the son of Frank and Florence Mabie. Les graduated from Edgerton High School, where he was active in Boxing, Football and Track. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served his country in the 294th Joint Assault Signal Corps, the first group to arrive on Omaha Beach, Normandy, in 1944. Les was honorably discharged in 1945, and returned to WI. While working at Fairbanks Morse building diesel motors, he met his future bride. On Aug. 17, 1946, Les married Jeannette Stluka. In 1957, they settled in Stoughton, and enjoyed farming their land. Les was a member of First Lutheran Church and active on the church dart league. He enjoyed bowling for over 45 years, going to the fair, especially Stoughton, Dane County and Walworth, and racing his horses.
Les is survived by his two sons, Stanley and Rick (Laura) Mabie; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Mary Sue) and Denis Mabie; five sisters: Mary Tomaszweski, Martha Rinker, Charlene Olson, Joyce Kinzer and Nancy Schmit; sister-in-law, Virginia Mabie; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeannette; three sisters: Jean Glackin, Nettie Witt and Virginia Walters; and six brothers: Bernard, Jackson, Frank, Robert, Darrell, and Jerry Mabie.
Memorial services will be held at 12 Noon at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, with Rev. Jerry Pribbenow officiating.

- Charlene P. Olson, age 86, of Janesville, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018, at her residence. She was born in Plymouth Township on August 11, 1932, the daughter of Frank and Florence (McGraw) Mabie. She grew up on the family farm in Hanover, WI, along with her 16 brothers and sisters. Charlene lived in Janesville for 56 years before retiring from General Motors in 1986, and then spent much of her retirement in Muscoda, WI. She was a hardworking and devoted mother, who loved her family dearly.
She is survived by her sons: Brad (Jacque) Olson and Tim (Deena) Olson; grandchildren: Desirea and Vanessa Olson, Brandon Kuffer, Jonathon (Lisa) Olson, and Cynthia Olson; great-grandchildren: Kendyln, Lauren, Bianca, Preston, and Sebastian; brothers, Dick (Mary Sue) Mabie and Dennis Mabie; sisters: Martha Robinson, Joyce Schultz, Nancey Schmidt, Mary (Eugene) Tomaszewki; sister-in-law, Virginia Mabie; and countless nieces; nephews; and extended family. Charlene is predeceased by her parents; brothers: Frank, Jack, Bernerd, Leslie (Jean), Robert and Darrel; sisters: Netti (Junior) Witt, Jean (Jim) Glacken, and Virginia (Marvin) Walters; and niece, Gina Mabie Brandenburg.
A celebration of Charlene's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Schneider Funeral Home; with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service.

- Virginia Ann Mabie, 88, of Lake Dallas, TX, and formerly of Beloit, WI, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020 in her home.
She was born December 2, 1931 in Alma Center, WI, the daughter of Leo and Anna (Sichler) Gilles. Virginia married Robert Mabie October 25, 1952 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Alma Center, WI. He predeceased her on December 9, 2000.
Her working years in Beloit were at Freeman shoe, where she was a data processor. She was always involved with her children's activities beginning at Brother Dutton School, as a Den Mother, Brownie Leader, and in later years, she was in charge of arranging the Beloit Memorial High School Football banquets. Virginia loved bowling, playing cards, and planning family events. Before moving to Texas, she could always be found volunteering her time at St. Vincent De Paul.
Survivors include her children, Craig (Rayette) Mabie of Lake Dallas, TX, Lisa Mabie in The Colony, TX, and Matthew Mabie of South Beloit, IL; grandchildren, Micah Mabie and Nolan Mabie; great grandchildren, Micah Mabie and Diem Mabie; and brother, George Gilles.
She was predeceased by her parents, siblings, Dorothy Schnur, Mildred Olson, Joseph Gilles, Howard Gilles, Eunice Sieler, John Gilles, Winnie Zembrowski and Richard Gilles.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Virginia will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2020 in St. Jude Catholic Church, 737 Hackett Street, Beloit, WI. Visitation of remembrance will be from 1:45 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Sunday in the church. Entombment will be on at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 23, 2020 in Floral Lawn Mausoleum, South Beloit, IL. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.
