- Luther "Lou" Norman Mabey, 88, of Farmville, VA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. Lou was born on July 30, 1934, to father Luther Mabey and mother Catherine Mabey. The oldest of three sons, he grew up in Lincoln Park. He enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Tokyo, Japan for his time of service. After getting married in 1959, he and his wife, Anna, lived in Montville. In 1969, they moved to Succasunna where he lived for 55 years. Lou was a loving husband to his wife Anna for 62 years. He was a kind man who was known for always doing the right thing and was a friend to all, helping whomever he was able. His easy spirit and warm smile endeared him to everyone who knew him. He enjoyed time spent with family, and friends, playing golf, and rooting for the NY Mets and NY Jets. Lou was a collector of chess sets. Lou was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Ellsworth Mabey. He is survived by his wife Anna; children Mark and his wife Sheila, and Cathy; grandson Brandon and his wife Holly; great-grandson Maddox. He is also survived by his brother Alfred, sister-in-law Gayle; brother-in-law Joseph; grand-pups Pixie and Calli, and many other loving family members. A visitation for Lou is planned for Thursday, September 15, from 5:30-7:30 pm and Friday, September 16, from 10:00-11:00 am with a service beginning at 11:00 am at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Route 10, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). All are invited to attend. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. Anna "Annie" Mabey, 89, of Farmville, VA. passed peacefully on Friday, May 2, 2025.
Annie was born on March 11, 1936. She graduated from Dover High School in 1953. She met and married Luther Mabey in 1959 and eventually moved to Succasunna, NJ where they resided for 55 years. She worked as a VP for Corporate Mailings in West Caldwell, NJ where she retired after 20+ years. She was an active member of St. Therese R.C. Church, Succasunna, NJ for more then 50+ years.
Annie was a loving wife to her husband Luther "Lou" for 62 years. She was a compassionate, loving and generous person to everyone. She enjoyed spending time with her family and spent many years organizing family/friend gatherings - something she loved and cherished.
She is survived by her two children Catherine Mabey of Conway, SC. and Mark Mabey and his wife Sheila of Farmville, VA; her grandson Brandon and his wife Holly, great-grandsons Maddox and Mason of Powhatan, VA.; her brother Joe Rinaldo; sister-in-law Gayle, grand pups Pixie and Calli, and many loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Luther, her parents, nine brother and sisters, and two brothers-in-law.
