- Mrs. Emma Jane Downs, 75, wife of William H. Downs, former police lieutenant, died today in the Bonhurst Nursing home, after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Downs, who lived at 2315 Twenty-first street. Was born in Huntington, Ont., and has lived in
Niagara Falls for the last 43 years. She was a devout member of the Chapeland Free Methodist church, Weston avenue and Fifteenth street.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Downs is survived by two sons Ernest and Orrln,- this city; two daughters, Mrs. Olive Matthews, this city, and Mrs. Violet Pack, Lewiston, and three sisters, Mrs. Annie Osterhout and Mrs, Lorena Adams, Vancouver, B. C; and Mrs. Minnie Downs, Trenton, N. J. A fourth sister, Mrs. Alpha Hagman, Easton, Pa, died recently. Three brothers also survive. They are Harold Maybee, Pekln; Herbert Maybee, Niagara Falls. Ont, and Orrln Maybee, Vancouver, B. C.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, at a time not yet determined, at the Free Methodist church, with the Rev. David E. Callen. pastor of the church, and the Rev. Charles B, Bates, officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the Bell Funeral home, 635 Main street

- Herbert Maybee, 59, died yesterday at his home, 827 Third avenue.
Born in Trenton, Ont., Mr. Maybee had resided formerly in Niagara Falls. N. Y., until 1932 when he returned here. He had been a barber at Hotel Niagara, Niagara Falls, N. Y., for eight years and also had been a barber at the old Clifton and Lafayette hotels here. For the last 13 years he had operated a shop at the King Edward hotel here.
Mr. Maybe was ah adherent of St. Paul's English Lutheran church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Janetta Couch; two daughters, Mrs. George Conibear. San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Leslie Bromhall, this city, and three grandchildren. A twin brother, Harold Maybee, Pekin. N. Y., and two sisters, Mrs. Harold Adams, British Columbia, and Mrs. Minnie Downs, Trenton, Ont., also survive.
Funeral services will be held at the Hetherington and Deans Funeral chapel tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery.

- Harold Maybee, 59, of Pekin, was pronounced dead by a private physician shortly after collapsing at 9:45 p.m., yesterday at South Ave. and Hyde Park Blvd.
A Fire Department report stated that a crew from the Niagara Avenue Firehall gave Maybee inhalator treatment for 30 minutes but failed to revive him.
Born in Trenton, Ont., he was a former resident of this city. A barber, he and his twin brother. Herb Maybee, owned the Twin Barber Shop, Pine Ave. and Main St. and also pursued their trade in Pekin.
He was a member of the Pekin Methodist Church.
He is survived by bis wife, Mrs. Florence Matthews Maybee; three daughters, Judith Maybee and Eileene Maybee, all of Pekin, and Mrs. Betty Howard, this city. Three sons, Harold Maybee of Ransomville; Reginald Maybee, Los Angeles, Calif., and Capt. Orrin Maybee, Ft. Louis, Washington; a sister, Lorena Adams, Vancouver, B. C, and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Rihes Funeral Home, Sanborn, with the Rev. Elmer Verguson officiating and Harrley Gints assisting. Interment will be in North Ridge Cemetery.
