- Mrs. Mary Dewey Mabie died at the home of her sister, Miss Hattie H. Sibley, on Fenn street, last Friday morning, after a lingering illness of several years' duration. The funeral services were conducted at the house Sunday afternoon, by Rev. M. Grant, with singing by the Morningside quartet. The burial was in Washington on Monday. Mrs Mabie was born in Washington April 24, 1821, and was the daughter of the late Daniel Sibley. She married Henry Dewey and lived in Becket a number of years, After his death she lived with her father, and upon his death removing to the West, Where she married Mr Mabie in Rockford, Ill. Upon his death, being herself in feeble health, she came to Pittsfield five years ago. She was an estimable woman, and had been a member of theMethodist church about fifty years. She is survived by one sister, Miss Sibley, and a brother, W. F. Sibley, who resides in California. Miss Lucy Crane, of the "Berkshire Home," her aunt, is the only surviving member of her mother's family, who was able to be present at the funeral. Miss Crane is in her 87th year, and is in excellent health for one of her age.
