  	13 Sep 1953, Springfield Republican (Springfield, MA) Burns Are Fatal To Arthur McVey - Arthur A. McVey, 57, of 14 Pendleton Ave., died Saturday from severe burns suffered when his mattress caught fire late Friday night. He was born in Lowell but made his home in Springfield for the past 35 years. He was variously engaged as a mason and roofing worker for a number of concerns. The fire which ended his life was believed to have been started from tobacco smoking. Besides his wife, Mrs. Rachel C. (Breen) McVey, he is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Robert Labonty of Wilbraham, Helen, May and twins Arlene and Agnes, all of Springfield; two brothers, Eugene of Ayer and William of Jersey City, N.J.; and a sister, Mrs. Richard Batti of Lowell. Funeral Monday at the State St. parlors followed by Requiem High Mass in St. Michael's Cathedral. Burial in St. Michael's Cemetery.
