When the boys were old enough to inherit the farm, and Joseph Harmon realized that he and his children were not going to inherit the land, he up and left taking a cart load of goods from the home. Wilmot had a difficult life, her boys after Joseph Harmon left took her to Aylmer to buy a new bonnet and have her picture taken.
