Hammond, pastor of the Scotia Methodist Church, performed the ceremony, which was followed by a reception for 60 guests. The house was 'decorated with autumn leaves forming an arch. The wedding music was provided by William J.-Healy, violinist, and Forrest Chapin. pianist.
Miss Addie Mabee, sister of the bridegroom, attended the bride as maid of honor and John P. Snell of Malone, uncle of the bride, acted as best man for Mr. Mabee; The bride wore a gown of Nile green taffeta, princess style and embroidered In gold. Her boquet was of roses.
On their return from a wedding trip to Rochester, Canada and the Thousand Islands, Mr. and Mrs. Mabee will be at home at 332 Mohawk avenue, Scotia. Mr. Mabee is associated with William J. Healy, undertaker."2

He was a member of the Scotia United Methodist Church and the church of Worship commission. A member of the Scotia Kiwanis Club, her served as club secretary for more than 30 years.
Mabee was past president of the Gold and Silver Club and was a member of the board of directors. He was also vice president of the Scotia Relief Association.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Fox Mabee, two sons. Donald E. Mabee of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Robert K. Mabee of Bridgeport, Conn. a daughter Mrs. Myrna Dunay of Scotia. Two brothers John Mabee of Scotia and Orville Mabee of Syracuse, a sister Mrs. Addie Pfeiffer of Scotia; 12 grandchildren and a great grandchild.5

(Witness) oObit8 February 1968 Helen May Dawson was mentioned in the obituary of James Edward Mabee on 8 February 1968 at Schenectady, New York; A Schenectady truck driver, James Mabee, 25, of 1859 Becker St., was killed early yesterday morning when the stake rack truck he was driving ran off the Thruway three miles west of Westmoreland and burst into flames.
State police said Mabee, a driver for McCormick's Highway. Transportation Inc., 151 Erie Blvd., was headed west when his vehicle left the Thruway on a left curve, plunged off the right shoulder of the highway and crashed down an embankment into several trees where it caught fire.
Mabee's burned body was removed from the wreckage about two hours after the accident
Funeral arrangements are being made by the victim's uncle directors of the Mabee Funeral Home;
A native of Schenectady, Mabee graduated from Scotia-Glenville High. School and served several years in the Air Force. He had been employed by the trucking firm for about four years.
His survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maycashion Mabee, and a one-year-old daughter, Cimmie Lee. Also surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Mabee; two brothers. John Mabee of Syracuse and Gary Mabee. stationed with the army in Fort Riley, Kan; and two sisters Mrs. Susan Smith of Sacramento, Calif., and Miss Sally Jean. Mabee of Scotia.5

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Mabee of Cuthtert Street, Scotia, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ewart G. Smith of Delmar.
Escorted by her father, the bride was attended by Miss Sally Mabee, Miss Joyce Smith and Miss Janice Naples. Greg Rocha served as best man while Grant Preble and John Bush ushered the guests. A reception was held at the American Legion Post 1001, Scotia.
An alumna of Scotia-Glenville High School, the bride has been employed as a supervisor for Travelers Insurance Co., Albany. Lt. Smith was graduated from Kenmore West Senior High School, Buffalo, and Alleghany College, Pennsylvania. He is serving in the United States Air Force.
The newlyweds will reside on Malabu Way, Sacramento, Calif.7,2

She was born May 4, 1919 in Schenectady, daughter of the late John and May Larrabee Dawson. She was educated in the Scotia school system. Helen continued to be a resident of Scotia, raising her family on Cuthbert Street.
She is predeceased by: husband of 54 years John Mabee Sr. 1993, her beloved son James "Jimmy" Mabee 1968, sisters, Evelyn Cusack 1975, and Marion Christopher 2008, a brother, Lawrence Dawson 2006, and son-in-law Gordon Smith 2006.
Helen is Survived by sister, Gloria Dawson Leo of Rotterdam Jct., her children; John W. Mabee (June) of Vestal, NY, daughter-in-law, Maycashion Litts of Scotia, NY, Susan Mabee Smith of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Gary D. Mabee (Kim) of Scotia, NY, and Sally Mabee Owen (Jeffrey) of Weaver, Alabama. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Craig, Garrett, Bryant, and Brent Mabee, Cimmie Mabee, Shane Litts, Christopher and Stephanie Smith, Amanda and Jonathan Mabee, Janay, Amy, and Jeffrey Owen, and 16 great grandchildren: Robert, Joshua, John, Joseph, Bryant John, Mason, and Jacob Mabee, Genevieve and Gabrielle Smith, Jena, Viktor, and Jaylan Lenchanko, Rainy and Andre' Potts, Alexandra and Colin Hope, and many nieces and nephews that she loved so much.
She was devoted to her family. Her joy was watching her children and grandchildren grow. She loved cooking for family members, gardening, painting, crocheting, playing cards with Addie and Arlene, and going to craft shows with her sister Gloria. She believed that, patience is a virtue and love never fails.
The family would like to thank: Dr. Chen Jung-Wen for his dedication to the care and comfort for our mother, and the Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center staff, for the daily love and support they shared with our mother and family members.
Calling hours will be Thursday, October 1, 2009, 10 - 11 a.m. at Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home at 1 Mohawk Avenue Scotia, N.Y. A service to celebrate the life of Helen Mabee will follow at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dana Carroll, Pastor of Scotia United Methodist Church will be officiating. Interment will be in Park Cemetery Sacandaga Road Scotia, NY
In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to the Schenectady County Historical Society for the George Franchere Education Center at the Mabee Farm Historic Site, in Rotterdam Jct, Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Scotia, NY, or Scotia United Methodist Church.10 
Burial She was buried at Park Cemetery, Scotia, Schenectady County, New York.11
