Howard is survived by 3 sons, John Mabie and his wife Debbie of Oswego, James Mabie and his wife Sherry of Friendswood, Texas and Howard Mabie and his wife Susan of Ocee, Florida; his numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at a later date in the spring in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester.9 |

The surviving relatives are his widow and three children, Iva Mae, Clarence Henry and George Edward, one brother, Ernest J. and one sister, Mrs. Maurice Goodrich, both of Worcester. Funeral services were held at the Mereness funeral parlors this morning at 10 o'clock with Rev. E. L. Martin of the Worcester Methodist church officiating. Fred L. Stilson post, American Legion, conducted military services at the grave. Interment was in the Cobleskill Rural cemetery.6 |

Mr. Mabie, who was born at Decatur on Nov. 19, 1896, the son of James H. and Augusta Mabie, lived in Worcester at one time. He married Miss Lettie Hadsell of this village. Mr. Mabie served for ten months with Co. B 146th Machine Gun Battalion during the World War. The surviving relatives are his widow and three children, Iva Mae, Clarence Henry and George Edward, one brother, Ernest J. and one sister, Mrs. Maurice Goodrich, both of Worcester. Funeral services were held at the Mereness funeral parlors this morning at 10 o'clock with Rev. E. L. Martin of the Worcester Methodist church officiating. Fred L. Stilson post, American Legion, conducted military services at the grave. Interment was in the Cobleskill Rural cemetery.5 |

George was an Army veteran of WW II and a member of the American Legion Post No. 222. He is survived by his wife, Clara Orlosky Mabie of Gloversville, whom he married August 10, 1974; his children, George E. Mabie Jr., Clarence H. Mabie and Diana Mabie, all of Gloversville, Linda Rivenburg of Berne, N.Y. and Bonnie Peeler of S. Corkwright, N.Y. He is also survived by siblings, Leslie Chase of Ft. Plain, Dora Mae Humphrey of Speculator, Loretta Williams of Ft. Plain, Ella Davis of Glen and his stepsisters, Marian Bruce of Cobleskill, Hilda Graham of Amsterdam, Vida Pitt of Medusa and Dorothy Palmer. Additional survivors include several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Leslie H. Her cathedral-length train of illusion was caught to a headpiece trimmed with forget-me-nots. She carried a bouquet of white and yellow mums, red roses and forget-me-nots. Mrs. Dianna Lyn Hoyt of Glen, sister of the bride, was matron of honor in a yellow gown and a headpiece of yellow lace. She carried a bouquet of yellow and white mums. Another attendant, Mrs. Elizabeth Cook of Fultonville, wore a lavender gown and matching lace headpiece. Her flowers also were yellow and white mums. Arthur McDougall of Northville, uncle of the bridegroom, was best man. Edward Magan of Gloversville, cousin of the bridegroom, was usher. The mother of the bride wore a floral pastel print on brown dress with brown accessories and a corsage of .yellow sweetheart roses The mother of the bridegroom wore a silver-threaded light blue dress with black accessories and a pink sweetheart rose corsage. After the ceremony a reception for 70 was held at the VFW Home with Gil Goodspeed and his band providing music. Guests attending were from Gloversville, Johnstown, Glen, Randall, Broadalbin, Schenectady, Syracuse, Troy and Massachusetts. After a trip to New York City, the couple will reside at 52 Burr Street. The bride's traveling outfit was a brown suit, matching accessories and a corsage of white carnations and red roses. Attendants were presented gifts at a buffet rehearsal party last Friday night at the home of the bridegroom's mother. The bride was honored at a bridal shower Oct. 9 at the home of her mother. Her sister assisted with the arrangements. The bride attended Fonda-Fultonville Central School. The bridegroom, a graduate of Gloversville High School, attended Fulton-Montgomery Community College. He is employed by the Keymark Corporation, Fonda.3 |
