She also worked from home for many years as a beautician. She will be sorely missed. At the age of 72, because of the depression, Lucille completed her education by attending Skyline High School to receive her GED, graduating as Valedictorian of her class. She was a faithful member of the LDS church and participated in the ward choir for many years as well as serving faithfully in numerous church callings, including pianist, organist, and in Primary. She also served three missions with her husband Stan; (England, Manchester, 1980-82; Chicago Temple, winter 1985-86 and a local mission in the Family History area of the Church Offices, 1991.) She was a lifetime member of the Heritage Chapter of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Lucille is survived by two children, Ronald J. (Carolyn) Rigby, Kathleen (Robert J.) Bringhurst; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Lynn Marie; son, Melvin W; grandson, Rowland; great-grandson, Robert Scott; two brothers, Don, Garold; and two sisters, Vera and Mary. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served an LDS Mission to Argentina. He served faithfully in his callings. He especially enjoyed being a home teacher. His greatest passion was teaching chemistry at Weber State University for 43 years. He was a master teacher. He had a great love of birds and was a member of the Audubon Society. He loved to travel the world and visited every continent except for Antarctica. Bryant was a diehard fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Weber State Wildcats. Bryant's greatest love was being with his family. He is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Melanie (Val) Durrant, JaNae (Jeff) Speth, David Bryant (Kerry) Miner, Heidi (Adam) Marberger, Jason Mabey (Nichol) Miner, Jared Todd (Laura) Miner, Elizabeth (Matthew) Neff-Mikolash, Kari (Shawn) Murray, Eric Morgan Neff; 27 grandchildren; also survived by his three sisters and four brothers, Carol Morgan, Rosemary Fairbourn, Edward Miner, Henry Miner, Camilla Smith, Joseph Miner and Steven Miner. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Janice, and daughter, Helen. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Forest Green Ward, Weber Heights Stake Center, 1401 Country Hills Drive. (Mentioned) oObit | 15 June 1938 | Tracy Clark Cummings was mentioned in the obituary of of Edith Mae Maybee on 15 June 1938 at Watertown, New York; Mrs Edith Mae Cummings, 69, widow of Edward Cummings, died late this morning at the private nursing home of Mrs Jessie Martin, 336 Gale street, where she had been a patient since Thursdsay. She had been suffering from a complication of diseases, including arthritis Mrs Cummings lived with a granddaughter, Mrs Malcom A. (Doris M. Cummings) Bedar, 281 High Street, who has now moved to 246 High Street. She has been confined to her bed for two years. She was born at Richland, July 4, 1868, a daughter of the late Orin and Sarah Clark Maybee. For many years she resided at Natural Dam and then at Gouverneur. For the last 32 years she had resided in this city, coming to Watertown from Gouverneur. She was married to Edward Cummings of Gouverneur Sept. 3, 1883, at Natural Dam, where she was then residing. Rev W. Dempster Chase, minister of the Methodist Episcopal church, performed the ceremony. Mr Cummings died in an Ogdensburg hospital March 28, 1928. Tracy Clark Cummings, the only child of Mr and Mrs Cummings, disappeared about 14 years ago and whether he is still living is not definitely known. Mrs Cummings was a member of the Asbury Methodist Episcopal Church. Surviving her are a daughter-in-law, Mrs Lorraine E. Cummings, Cleveland, O; four grandchildren, Mrs Bedar, city, Wardell F. E. and Howard E Cummings, Cleveland, and Mrs Virgil (Thelma Cummings) VanParys, Bay City, Mich; two nieces in Mexico, N. Y., and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 at the Bedor home. Rev Fred R. Tiffany, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be made in the North Watertown cemetery.5 |
