Born in Schenectady, Mrs. Plue was employed by St. Regis Paper Co. in Scotia. She was a member of the East Glenville Baseball Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband, David F. Plue; a daughter, Mrs. Roy Rowledge of Scotia; four sons, Bern. He had been in poor health for over a year. Born in Roxburyshire, Scotland on April 8, 1871, Mr. Smith was the son of James and, Alice (Dickson) Smith. He came to the United States while a young man and in December, 1909, married Eva Mabie, who survives him. Other survivors are a brother, John Smith of Fly Creek and a niece, Miss Alice Smith of Huntington, L. I. He was a member of the Fly Creek Methodist church. For a number of years he was caretaker of Glimmerglen Farm operated by: W. T. Hyde. Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Tillapaugh Funeral home with services conducted by the Rev. Clarence L. Andrews, pastor of the Methodist churches in Cooperstown and Fly Creek. Burial will be in the Fly Creek cemetery.4 |

Mrs. Mabie was born on June 21, 1866, in the Town of Roseboom, the daughter of John and Cynthia (Allen) Lovejoy. She was married to Elmer Mabie on February 15, 1888. H e died on July 18, 1936. She was a member of the South Valley Christian Church for 80 years and active in many of the church societies Surviving are one daughter, Miss Louise Mabie of South valley; two sons, Herbert of Cobleskill and Lee of South Valley: five grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the South Valley Christian Church, with the Rev. Myron Tripp, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. William Knorr of Sherburne. Burial was in South Valley Cemetery.17 |

Miss Mabie was born Oct. 13, 1895, in Butlers Corners, the daughter of Elmer and Minnie Lovejoy Mabie. She attended Butlers Corners District 1 School. For many years she worked at the South Valley Glove Shop and also worked at the Marwell Chinchilla Farm. She was the oldest member of the First Christian Church at South Valley where. she taught Sunday School and was church organist and pianist for many: years. Louise was a member of the Ladies Aid, Roseboom Grange, South Valley Women's Club and made lap robes and pillows for The Meadows. Survivors include three nephews, Herbert Mabie and Frank Mabie of South Valley and Frederick Mabie of Fonda; two nieces, Luelle Brodie of South Valley and Myra Webster of Cherry Valley; many great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two o brothers, E. Herbert Mabie and Lee Mabie. Funeral service was Monday, Feb. 19, at Ottman Funeral Home, the Rev. Alan Miller officiated. Burial will be in South Valley Cemetery in spring. Calling hours were Sunday, Feb. 18, at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church of South Valley.15 | |

Her funeral was largely attended Thursday afternoon from the Christian church of which she was a faithful member and teacher in the Sunday school when her illness began. Her, pastor, the Rev. Myron Tripp, officiated and interment took place in the local cemetery. Bearers were the three sons of the deceased, Herbert, Jr., Frank and Frederick, her two son-in-laws, Elliott Brodie, James Webster and Fred Snyderi She-was born fifty-seven years ago at Mead, Washington and came here when very young. She was the daughter of the late John and Luella Shilletto. She was a graduate of Cooperstown, High school and Schenevus Teachers' Training class and taught five years prior to her marriage in 1912 to E. Herbert Mabie, who survives her; also five children, five grandchildren, an aunt, Mrs. Nellie Shilletto, Oneonta and an uncle, William Michaels, Cooperstown, besides a host of: friends who extend sincere sympathy to the. bereaved family.11 |

Miss Mabie was born Oct. 13, 1895, in Butlers Corners, the daughter of Elmer and Minnie Lovejoy Mabie. She attended Butlers Corners District 1 School. For many years she worked at the South Valley Glove Shop and also worked at the Marwell Chinchilla Farm. She was the oldest member of the First Christian Church at South Valley where. she taught Sunday School and was church organist and pianist for many: years. Louise was a member of the Ladies Aid, Roseboom Grange, South Valley Women's Club and made lap robes and pillows for The Meadows. Survivors include three nephews, Herbert Mabie and Frank Mabie of South Valley and Frederick Mabie of Fonda; two nieces, Luelle Brodie of South Valley and Myra Webster of Cherry Valley; many great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two o brothers, E. Herbert Mabie and Lee Mabie. Funeral service was Monday, Feb. 19, at Ottman Funeral Home, the Rev. Alan Miller officiated. On Nov. 24, 1946, he married Norma D. Edwards in South Valley. She predeceased him in 1989.He was a self-employed farmer in Roseboom. Later he was owner and operator of the Cargo Gas Station, Canajoharie. He also did carpentry and finishing work in Albany. Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Lori Mabie of Albany, Larry and Patricia Mabie of Fultonville, Rodney and Cindy Mabie of Canajoharie, and Rickke and Brenda Mabie of Ballston Spa; a daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Daniel Gustafson of Cobleskill; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Herbert (Stub) Mabie of Westford; two sisters, Myra Webster of Cherry Valley and Luella Brodie of South Valley; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Frank Mabie, in 1997. Funeral services will be held at the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley, at noon Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, with the Rev. Herbert and Mary (Shillito) Mabie. He was married Feb. 4, 1941, to Mildred Anna Snyder, his beloved wife of 50 years. She passed away July 2, 1991. Herbert was a lifelong resident of South Valley, where he was born and raised and also attended school. In his early years, he worked and then managed his family farm. He also was employed by the Town of Roseboom, as highway superintendent, and was an Otsego County Correctional Officer. He worked as a carpenter for many years. He was dedicated to his family and community. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Herbert was a trustee of the South Valley/Pleasant Brook Cemetery Association, and acted as a deacon and trustee of the South Valley Christian Church for many years. He along with his sons, and grandchildren enjoyed making maple syrup each year. Stub was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He is survived by his sisters, Myra Webster of Cherry Valley, and Luella Brodie of South Valley; as well as his son, William H. Mabie; and daughter, Margaret L. Mabie, both of South Valley; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife; brothers, Frank H. Mabie and Fredrick E. Mabie; and his children, Linda Ruth Mabie and Arthur Lee Mabie. There will be a memorial service to celebrate his life at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the South Valley Christian Church in South Valley. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations to be made in his loving memory to the South Valley First Christian Church Building Fund, or to the American Heart Association. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley.15 |

The church was decorated with Autumn flowers, ferns, running pine and gladioli and the ceremony, performed under an arch of evergreens and flowers was witnessed by over 125 relatives and friends. The Rev. William Knorr of Perth officiated assisted by the Rev. Myron Tripp, pastor of the church. Attending the bride as her maid-of honor, was her sister, Miss Myra Mabie, and the Misses Thelma and Leona Brodie and Irene Brazie acted as, bridesmaids. Ethel Brodie, youngest sister of the groom was flower girl and little Stuart Knorr Perth was ring bearer. Frank H. Mabie, brother of the bride.acted as best man and the ushers were Arthur and Fred Snyder, Harold Brazie and Frederick Mabie. The bride, given in marriage by her father wore white taffeta and a finger tip veil and carried white gladioli. The maid of honor wore blue taffeta and carried pink gladioli. The bridesmaids wore pink, blue and yellow gowns and carried pink gladioli. The flower girl wore light blue silk and carried a basket of varied Autumn flowers. Mrs. Harold Manzer of Northville played the wedding marches and Mrs. William Knorr sant: "Oh. Promise Me" and "I Love You Truly," accompanied by Mrs. Manzer. Herbert Mabie, passed away early Tuesday morning at her late home after a long, painful illness. Her funeral was largely attended Thursday afternoon from the Christian church of which she was a faithful member and teacher in the Sunday school when her illness began. Her, pastor, the Rev. Myron Tripp, officiated and interment took place in the local cemetery. Bearers were the three sons of the deceased, Herbert, Jr., Frank and Frederick, her two son-in-laws, Elliott Brodie, James Webster and Fred Snyderi She-was born fifty-seven years ago at Mead, Washington and came here when very young. She was the daughter of the late John and Luella Shilletto. She was a graduate of Cooperstown, High school and Schenevus Teachers' Training class and taught five years prior to her marriage in 1912 to E. Herbert Mabie, who survives her; also five children, five grandchildren, an aunt, Mrs. Nellie Shilletto, Oneonta and an uncle, William Michaels, Cooperstown, besides a host of: friends who extend sincere sympathy to the. bereaved family.6 |

Miss Mabie was born Oct. 13, 1895, in Butlers Corners, the daughter of Elmer and Minnie Lovejoy Mabie. She attended Butlers Corners District 1 School. For many years she worked at the South Valley Glove Shop and also worked at the Marwell Chinchilla Farm. She was the oldest member of the First Christian Church at South Valley where. she taught Sunday School and was church organist and pianist for many: years. Louise was a member of the Ladies Aid, Roseboom Grange, South Valley Women's Club and made lap robes and pillows for The Meadows. Survivors include three nephews, Herbert Mabie and Frank Mabie of South Valley and Frederick Mabie of Fonda; two nieces, Luelle Brodie of South Valley and Myra Webster of Cherry Valley; many great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two o brothers, E. Herbert Mabie and Lee Mabie. Funeral service was Monday, Feb. 19, at Ottman Funeral Home, the Rev. Alan Miller officiated. He was born in South Valley on April 29, 1924, the son of Ronald S. and Madge (Folmsbee) Webster. In November 1942, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served until October 1945 in the 409th AAF Base Unit. He returned from Europe after V-Day July 1945, and married Myra Ruth Mabie on Aug. 6, 1945, at Perth. He was honorably discharged with a rank of technical sergeant on Oct. 8, 1945. He and his wife started out married life living in Cherry Valley, where he worked at Glensfoot Farm. In October 1950, they moved to Unadilla, where he worked at Scintilla. In August 1952, he and his family moved to Mail Hill, South Valley, where he was a farmer until May 1969. After farming 1970, he worked for the Otsego County Highway Department, Cooperstown, as a truck driver. He retired from the county in 1986. In 1973, he and his wife moved to a home in Cherry Valley, where he grew and sold strawberries for several years. Mr. Webster was active in Farm Bureau, Extension Service and administered programs for the ASC office in Cooperstown, and served as supervisor of the town of Roseboom. He was an active member of Whiteman, Hall, Snyder Legion in Cherry Valley and maintained contact with some of his war comrades via of being an active member of the 409th Bomb Squadron. He was a member of the First Christian Church, South Valley. Survivors include his wife, Myra Mabie Webster of Cherry Valley; two daughters, Suzanne Tompson of Cherry Valley and Rebecca Lofstrom of Fort Plain; two sons, James Jr. of Austin, Texas, and David of Princess Anne, Md; grandchildren, Michael and Ronald Clapper and Matthew, Madeline, Miranda and Sarena Webster; stepgrandchildren, Kerry, Aaron and Caleb Lofstrom. He was predeceased by a sister, Avis Huntington; and three brothers, Ronald Jr., Stanley and Edward. Herbert and Mary (Shillito) Mabie. He was married Feb. 4, 1941, to Mildred Anna Snyder, his beloved wife of 50 years. She passed away July 2, 1991. Herbert was a lifelong resident of South Valley, where he was born and raised and also attended school. In his early years, he worked and then managed his family farm. He also was employed by the Town of Roseboom, as highway superintendent, and was an Otsego County Correctional Officer. He worked as a carpenter for many years. He was dedicated to his family and community. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Herbert was a trustee of the South Valley/Pleasant Brook Cemetery Association, and acted as a deacon and trustee of the South Valley Christian Church for many years. He along with his sons, and grandchildren enjoyed making maple syrup each year. Stub was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He is survived by his sisters, Myra Webster of Cherry Valley, and Luella Brodie of South Valley; as well as his son, William H. Mabie; and daughter, Margaret L. Mabie, both of South Valley; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife; brothers, Frank H. Mabie and Fredrick E. Mabie; and his children, Linda Ruth Mabie and Arthur Lee Mabie. There will be a memorial service to celebrate his life at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the South Valley Christian Church in South Valley. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations to be made in his loving memory to the South Valley First Christian Church Building Fund, or to the American Heart Association. Louise was a member of the Ladies Aid, Roseboom Grange, South Valley Women's Club and made lap robes and pillows for The Meadows. Survivors include three nephews, Herbert Mabie and Frank Mabie of South Valley and Frederick Mabie of Fonda; two nieces, Luelle Brodie of South Valley and Myra Webster of Cherry Valley; many great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two o brothers, E. Herbert Mabie and Lee Mabie. Funeral service was Monday, Feb. 19, at Ottman Funeral Home, the Rev. Alan Miller officiated. Herbert Mabie, passed away early Tuesday morning at her late home after a long, painful illness. Her funeral was largely attended Thursday afternoon from the Christian church of which she was a faithful member and teacher in the Sunday school when her illness began. Her, pastor, the Rev. Myron Tripp, officiated and interment took place in the local cemetery. Bearers were the three sons of the deceased, Herbert, Jr., Frank and Frederick, her two son-in-laws, Elliott Brodie, James Webster and Fred Snyderi She-was born fifty-seven years ago at Mead, Washington and came here when very young. She was the daughter of the late John and Luella Shilletto. She was a graduate of Cooperstown, High school and Schenevus Teachers' Training class and taught five years prior to her marriage in 1912 to E. Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Lori Mabie of Albany, Larry and Patricia Mabie of Fultonville, Rodney and Cindy Mabie of Canajoharie, and Rickke and Brenda Mabie of Ballston Spa; a daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Daniel Gustafson of Cobleskill; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Herbert (Stub) Mabie of Westford; two sisters, Myra Webster of Cherry Valley and Luella Brodie of South Valley; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Frank Mabie, in 1997. Funeral services will be held at the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley, at noon Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, with the Rev. Soloist was Mrs. Herbert Mabie, mother of the groom, who sang "I Love You Truly" and "O, Promise Me." The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon May, South Valley. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Mabie, Westford, RD. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a street length dress of brocaded taffeta. The lace bodice featured a scalloped neckline with long pointed sleeves. Her shoulder length veil was fastened to a white chiffon bow headpiece. Miss Deborah Phillips was maid of honor. She wore an orchid brocaded taffeta street length dress with a lace bolero and a net whimsie to match. They both carried a cascade of white carnations. The bridesmaids wore identical dresses of brocaded taffeta styled like the maid of honor with matching whimsies. The Misses Linda and Margaret Mabie, sisters of the groom wore yellow and blue respectively. Miss Linda May, sister of the bride wore green. Each wore a white carnation corsage. Miss Ruth Ellen, sister of the bride was flower girl and she wore pink taffeta. David Webster, cousin of the groom was ring bearer. Frank Brodie, cousin of the groom was best man. Ushers were Dean Wikoff, Cherry Valley, Willis Thompson and Richard Hansen. Open,House was held following the ceremony at the home of the bride's parents attended Cherry Valley Central School. Mabie, 56, passed away suddenly Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown. She was born Sept. 27, 1948, in Cooperstown, the daughter of Herbert J. and Mildred A. Mabie. A lifelong area resident, she worked as a nurse's aide at Bassett Healthcare. She was a member of the First Christian Church of South Valley. Survivors include her father, Herbert J. Mabie; a sister, Margaret Mabie; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Marsha Mabie and Art and Carol Mabie; lots of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother, Mildred Mabie. Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley, with the Rev. Terence Brant officiating. Burial will follow in the South Valley Cemetery, South Valley. Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. to noon, preceding the funeral. Contributions in Linda's memory may be made to the Cherry Valley Emergency Squad or the First Christian Church of South Valley.
