The accident happened near the home ranch on the north side, about 8 o'clock yesterday morning, and as soon as possible the body was brought to Miles City and placed in a local hospital. "Mrs. Anthony, wife of the injured man, was sent for and arrived from the ranch about noon, but Mr. Anthony never regained consciousness. "Deceased leaves two children besides his wife. "Relatives at Rothiemay, and his mother residing in Iowa, have been advised of his death, and pending word from his relatives the body will remain at the Plimpton mortuary, where it was taken following his demise." Kline: Arrangements have been completed and are announced for the funeral and burial of Frank Anthony. Mr. Anthony was the principal in an accident which occurred near Rosebud[?], when riding on a horse, it shied and jumped over a cut bank dragging him a number of feet and kicking him fatally in the head. The accident occured about eight o'clock on Tuesday morning when he was immediately brought to the city on the train and admitted to the hospital. He did not regain consciousness and lingered until a little after three o'clock when he died. "The funeral will take place from the Presbyterian church on Friday afternoon at two o'clock, the Rev. B. L. Kline of the Christian church officiating. It is understood the Presbyterain choir will furnish the music. Burial will be in the Miles City cemetery. "Mr. Anthony was a prominent rancher living about eight miles north of the city and was a man of estimable qualifications, highly regarded by neighbors and friends. He leaves a wife and two small children, a little boy a year and a half old and a little girl four years old. "His mother and sister, Mrs. Sellar, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, have arrived in the city, and Mrs. Anthony's mother of Portland, and her sister from Rothiemay are expected to arrive in the city to be in attendance at the obsequies."5 |
