Death* | 26 October 2011 | Maurine Moyes died on 26 October 2011 at Twin Falls, Twin Falls County, Idaho, at age 85.4 |
oObit* | The obituary of Maurine Moyes read: Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, our beloved mother, Maurine Moyes Caughey of Twin Falls, valiantly completed her mortal probation and passed through the veil and was reunited with her eternal companion. Maurine was born Sept. 24, 1926, to Bryon Ariel Moyes and Edna Janette Mabey in Murtaugh, Idaho. Following Maurine's high school graduation, she attended Albion Normal School where she earned her elementary teaching certificate. Upon graduation, she taught school in Burley for three years and then moved to Twin Falls to continue her teaching career. It was during this time that our mother met the love of her life, our father, Bruce E. Caughey. On July 9, 1949, Bruce and Maurine were married. One year later on June 23, 1950, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. In the corning years, Maurine and Bruce were blessed with five children, four daughters and one son, Vickie, Julie, Cathie, Peggy and Randy. Maurine's children were blessed to be raised by one of the most loving, selfless, humble women to grace this earth. Her passing has changed our lives forever. Maurine was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and exemplified the Savior's teachings. "Selflessness rather than selfishness" describes our dear mother. She always put her family and the needs of others first. After raising her family, Maurine became a substitute teacher. Maurine continued to teach school well into her 70s. It was common for her to be out and about and run into these young students years later; they would always ask: "Do you remember me?" Our mother possessed a very gentle spirit. She had compassion for everyone, and all felt safe and important in her presence. Maurine was preceded in death by "her Bruce" in 1997. She is survived by her children, Vickie Caughey-Calzada, Julie Caughey-Treanor, Cathie Caughey-Call, Peggy Caughey and Randy E. Caughey. Maurine was a beloved grandmother of 13 and a great-grandmother to 12. There are no words to express the loss we will live with now that she is gone. We will be forever blessed to call her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, The family will hold a graveside ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at Sunset Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of White Mortuary "Chapel by the Park."2 |
